Originally released in 1953, the Rolex Submariner has since been considered the icon for diving watches around the world. Debuting in 2003 at Basel Watch Fair, Rolex released their special edition Rolex Submariner 16610LV to honor and celebrate the model’s 50th anniversary of top craftsmanship and innovation. Further known as “the Kermit”, “the maxi Sub”, or “the Tuborg” just to name a few, The Rolex Submariner 16610LV has had a very controversial run during its years in production.

Discontinued in 2011, the Submariner 116610LV has since replaced the Submariner 16610LV although there are virtually no differences between the models, apart from slight cosmetic discrepancies such as the green bezel and Maxi dial and hands.

Running on an in-house automatic mechanical movement, the Submariner 16610LV is water-resistant to 1,000 feet and has a black dial with a green bezel, matching 904L steel 40mm case and Rolex Submariner watch strap, sapphire glass, quick set screw-down crown, and date function.

Additionally, the 16610LV Rolex Submariner watch strap is a Rolex Oyster Bracelet. This special steel Rolex Watch Strap has a clever flip-lock clasp with a dive suit extension feature, offering divers the option to wear their watches outside their suits as previously mentioned here.

Famous for often being worn with a nato watch strap, the Rolex Submariner 16610LV could be paired with Rubber B’s uniquely designed watch bands made of rubber for a change. Try the forest green VulChromatic watch strap for an impeccable match and fit.
