The Daniel Craig watch and car collection is certainly something he has worked on before he adopted the 007 role for himself. Craig has quickly become one of the best James Bond actors ever to take on the role. That is huge praise considering the likes of Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and even Pierce Brosnan epitomized the role.
His gritty physicality, self-described “blunt-instrument” approach to the character certainly changed the franchise around. He brought a sense of reality to the role especially with his first installment to the series – Casino Royale, where he nearly dies from poisoning during a card match, and then is beaten to an inch of his life and must recover in a hospital.
The James Bond movies always seems to open with an action sequence that defies the laws of reality. In Casino, Daniel Craig delivers his more realistic physicality to the role as he captures the terrorist after a punishing chase scene. These fight scenes has taken its toll on the character, causing injury to his knees, ribs, face and more. However, the resilient actor has taken each blow with grace and determination that would make a real life James Bond proud.
The Daniel Craig Watch and Car Collection
The Daniel Craig watch and car collection include some of the finest models imaginable. The first car is probable the least flashy car of the bunch, but still packs a punch. the Ford Mondeo provides an easy to ride economical car which has both electric and gas components to get you from point A to point B in style. The styling of the car design makes it look much like a high end car without breaking the bank. Prices range from the $30,000’s to the mid $50,000’s depending on options.
Moving up the stack would be this Range Rover Sport. An SUV with class, the Range Rover is certainly a comfortable car to drive and a masculine one that can fit all of the things one could want in it. Both sporty and roomy, this model is an eye catching car even though it might only cost around $69,000 to take one home.
The Jaguar XJ is a luxury car like no other. It is meant to have a sleek appearance with simple lines, roomy interior and an easy ride no matter who you are being chased by. Coming in at $75,000, this is the start of the “Bond-esque” section of the Daniel Craig Watch and Car Collection.
James Bond and Aston Martin go together so well that it is hard to think about 007 driving anything else. The Aston Martin DBS was gifted to Daniel Craig after the shooting of Casino Royale. This timeless car is both breathtaking and stylish. A perfect combination for a custom suit and a man with a need for speed. The DBS comes in at just over $300,000.
This Aston Martin is so sleek and stunning that it is a shame to hand it off to James Bond. It would be a shame to destroy such beauty with barrages of bullets from enemies. This model could easily go for around $3.5 million but starts off in the 1.5 million dollar mark.
The 1964 Aston Martin DB5 appeared in both Thunderball and Goldfinger. A movie heirloom from the bond series like this has gone for just under $5 million in auction 10 years ago. However, it might be possible to procure a non-Bond-attached model for just under $500,000. A bargain for such a beautiful car.
Early in the Bond Series, both Ian Flemming and Sean Connery were known to have worn Rolex Submariners. However, over the course of time, many other watches have been worn by 007. Currently the franchise has tied itself to the Omega line, and with each new movie, it presents a new version of an Omega timepiece. For Daniel Craig’s first movie, this was an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean with 600 meters of waterproofness.
In many ways, Quantum of Solace really ended up being a part 2 of Casino Royale. It picked up where Casino left off – as Bond sought to punish the people behind the untimely death of his love interest – the femme fatale Vesper. This Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean appeared in some of the scenes from Austria to the Atacama Desert of Chile.
Skyfall is one of the better bond films. Of course the death of M played by Judy Dench exposed the human fragility of the normally untouchable leader of the British Secret Service. For the first time, the Bond familial backstory entered the 007 canon – setting up the confrontation with his half-brother in the next set of films.
This Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra was worn by Bond and is an impressive blue with luminescent triangle hour markers. One of the noteworthy items on this timepiece is the arrow tips on the top of the minute and second hands.
The Spectre timepiece – this Omega Seamaster Co-axial 41mm – is a timepiece that Daniel Craig would appreciate. It has a black and grey NATO strap and it has a vintage look with hour markers showing a deeply yellowed luminescent paint. The patina on this coloring has the same look that perhaps a vintage Rolex might exhibit on its hour markers after 30 years of gentle aging.
Although this movie has been delayed due to the Corona epedemic, the Omega Seamaster presented in No Time to Die is worth waiting for. If the patina in the previous Omega was worthy of consideration, this Omega Seamaster is clearly its superior. The yellow-orange luminescent coloring is added not only on the hour, minute, second hands and hour markers, but also matches the coloring around the bezel. The timepiece has the distinct look of a vintage timepiece, but is a powerful workhorse – a chronometer with 1000 feet of waterproofness capability.
Daniel Craig’s Rolex Collection
The first picture at the top of this article shows Daniel Craig’s most expensive timepiece – the vintage Paul Newman Rolex Daytona reference 6263. This is quite literally one of the most expensive pieces in the Daniel Craig watch and car collection. It goes for around $100,000 today and some might go for millions at auction.
The Paul Newman heirloom 6263 went for $17.8 million. Could the same timepiece owned by 007 himself one day go for the same price or more? Only time will tell. Certainly the 6263 Craig owns is in far better physical condition than the one formerly owned by Newman – subsequently gifted to his daughter’s friend.
Sean Connery made the Submariner 6538 famous when he wore the timepiece in Dr. No, among other films. The timepiece he wore had an undersized NATO band not unlike the Omega Spectre band above. Daniel Craig certainly knows his Bond history when he acquired this vintage Submariner.
Daniel Craig owns several new Rolex timepieces. One of his best is the GMT Master II. This is a fine timepiece for the globetrotting actor. Certainly an actor that must shoot Bond films in multiple parts of the globe needs to have 2 time zones to keep him grounded. The GMT Master II with the Pepsi bezel gives Craig the ability to recognize day and night with the now famous two-tone color scheme. The hour hand can be easily set in seconds after a long flight. The red 24 hour hand provides access to a 2nd time zone using the adjustable 24 hour markers on the bezel.
Of the items in the Daniel Craig watch and car collection, the modified Submariner is probably the most unique. Rather than just collecting a standard timepiece, Craig chose to pick up this rare modified Project X Rolex Submariner. He is sporting a NATO style strap and you can see that the crown protector lugs have been completely removed.
The final installment in the Daniel Craig Watch and Car collection is this beautiful Rolex Milgauss with lightning bolt seconds hand. The green lume on the sapphire crystal is both stunning and eye-catching. Although this timepiece doesn’t shoot lasers or have a saw to cut through steel bars, the thunderbolt hand gives the impression that it could.
