The Roger Dubuis team has achieved another milestone with its creative partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. The new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracán Reference RDDBEX0748 offers a new 12 degree angle balance escapement with an automatic winding mechanism displaying a rim-like rotor. It also features a strut-bar on the bridge similar to the ones used on the V10 engine of the Lamborghini Huracán super car.
The RDDBEX0748 is powered by the RD630 which is a self-winding mechanical caliber with a 60 hour power reserve provided by the twin barrel power supply. It features an hour, minutes and central seconds hands with a date display at 6 o’clock. Built with 233 components and 29 jewels, it performs at a frequency of 28,800 vph. It is shot-blasted and NAC coated on the main plate and on the bridges. The rotor even appears to be designed like a super car wheel rim.
The RDDBEX0748 has a 45 mm case. The skeleton dial has black flower flanges and Rhodium plated upper flanges. The hour markers are Rhodium plated and filled with white luminous SLN. The 18K gold hour, minute and seconds hands are PVD coated black and tipped with white luminous SLN coating.
The RDDBEX0748 has a water resistance of 50 meters. It comes with a bi-material strap with black rubber base and grey Alcantara inlay and black stitching. It uses a quick release system clasp with Titanium black DLC coating and an adjustable folding buckle. The quick release band offers the owner the ability to quickly change bands and completely refresh the look of the timepiece with a new color each day without needing to utilize a watch bar tool to detach and attach the new band. This is not unlike a racecar needing to change tires in the pit quickly in the heat of battle. This quick release system offers a similar experience with speed and precision.
Rubber B collaborated with Roger Dubuis to create an exclusive strap designed specifically for the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracán Reference RDDBEX0748 45 mm case and deployment clasp. This is engineered to work with the quick-release system of the Excalibur Spider but can also support models that do not come with the quick-release. The quick release system is a unique system allowing timepiece owners the ability to completely change the look of their Roger Dubuis creation by interchanging bands with various color palettes to suit their needs and tastes at the moment. These bands can be attached to the original deployment clasp that came with the original timepiece.
All Rubber B vulcanized rubber bands are 100% waterproof and are made in Switzerland of pure natural rubber. Although the white rubber base and red stitching looks spectacular with the Reference RDDBEX0748 there are several base colors and alternative color threads used for stitching available to allow the Roger Dubuis timepiece owner a tremendous number of styling options.
