The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon Reference RDDBEX0589 is stunning achievement in a unique timepiece. It is manufactured in titanium grade 5 with black DLC coating and has a rather light feel to it as compared to other timepieces in the 40+ mm range. Although it comes in at 47 mm the choice of titanium provides a 4 times lighter feel than gold. Just as a sportscar eliminates weight by using only the parts that are necessary and using the lightest metals in the world, the Excalibur Spider achieves the same feat by presenting a large case design with the lightest feel. Only the hour and minutes hands are made with 18K gold but are PVD’d to keep the consistent Titanium look of the timepiece.
The Reference RDDBEX0589 is made with an eye-catching orange coloring used throughout the inner bezel and the winding crown. Red hour and minute hand tips match the inner dial dots in the dual tourbillon windows.
This is an ultra-rare timepiece and is part of a limited edition production of only 28 pieces.
The hand-wound caliber RD105SQ has a power reserve of 52 hours. It was crafted with 366 pieces, 50 Jewels and beats at a frequency of 21,600 Alt/h. Besides the hours and minutes hands it has a power reserve indicator between 9 and 10 o’clock. It’s precision is enhanced by a differential mechanism that regulates the functioning of the two flying tourbillons. The Circular-grained plate and bridges have received the Anthracite grey NAC treatment and Poinçon de Genève finishings.
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon Reference RDDBEX058 supports water resistance to 50 meters. The hour and minutes hands support visibility with luminous SLN tips. The hour indexes are filled with white luminous SLN. The RDDBEX0589 has undergone extreme testing and received the Hallmark of Geneva seal guaranteeing its durability, performance, water resistance and precision.
Rubber B collaborated with Roger Dubuis to create an exclusive strap designed specifically for the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Skelleton Double Flying Tourbillon Reference RDDBEX0589 47 mm case and deployment clasp. This is engineered to work with the quick-release system of the Excalibur Spider but can also support models that do not come with the quick-release. The quick release system is a unique system allowing timepiece owners the ability to completely change the look of their Roger Dubuis creation by interchanging bands with various color palettes to suit their needs and tastes at the moment. These bands can be attached to the original deployment clasp that came with the original timepiece.
All Rubber B vulcanized rubber bands are 100% waterproof and are made in Switzerland of pure natural rubber. Although the orange rubber base and matching orange stitching looks spectacular with the Reference RDDBEX0589 there are several base colors and alternative color threads used for stitching available to allow the Roger Dubuis timepiece owner a tremendous number of styling options.
