The Portugieser Annual Calendar<\/strong> by IWC Schaffhausen<\/strong> is yet another success among many in the Portugieser collection to debut in SIHH 2015. Said to have gone through an almost five-year development, this new model is both beauty and brains encompassed into one watch without losing the underlying look of the original of its series from 1939.<\/p>\n

In the new design, there is an added annual calendar display and an elegant and easier-to-read annual calendar complication system. The Portugieser Annual Calendar with black leather watchband<\/em> features the month, date, and day in three individual windows, as well as a subsidiary seconds, display and power reserve indicator.<\/p>\n

What makes this watch so special and has many watch connoisseurs giddy, is its newly manufactured in-house caliber, 52850, combined with the annual calendar. This new calibre runs on a double barrel system, capacitating the Portugieser Annual Calendar to have a 7-day power reserve and have enough power to run all three display discs. This watch need only be manually adjusted once a year through the ease of using the crown, as it cannot decipher the correct date in February or leap years.<\/p>\n

Considered on more of the bulky side, the Portugieser Annual Calendar has a 44.2mm diameter case, runs on a mechanical movement, and is water resistant up to 3 bar.
