When discussing women\u2019s wristwatches, it is impossible to do so without mentioning the Rolex Lady Datejust, which is one of the most famous women\u2019s wristwatches in the world. As a result, we thought it would be interesting to compare two of the more recent versions of this watch \u2013 the Lady Datejust 28 and the Lady Datejust 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll compare these watches in terms of their technical specifications, talk about their design and overall look, compare price points, and then try and determine if there is a clearly superior timepiece between the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Are The Technical Specifications of These Timepieces?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the most interesting things we noticed when comparing these two watches in terms of their specifications is that, other than the difference in size, they are exactly the same in terms of their mechanics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As their names imply, the Rolex Lady Datejust 28 measures at 28 mm in diameter, while the Rolex Lady Datejust 31 measures at 31 mm in diameter. They both use the 2236 Caliber, which is manufactured by Rolex and is perpetual, mechanical, and self-winding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also both have high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers and Syloxi hairsprings in silicon to assist with oscillation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, both of these timepieces are waterproof for up to 330 feet and have a power reserve of 55 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In many ways, there is a lot of overlap in terms of the design of these two timepieces as well.  They both have fluted bezels for the dial, and both watches are made from Yellow Rolesor, which is a combination of Rolex\u2019s patented Oystersteel and 18-carat yellow gold. Both watches have a five-link Jubilee bracelet, which is also made from the same material, and they also have a concealed folding Crownclasp as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where they do differ primarily in terms of their look is in their dials. The Rolex Lady Datejust 28 has diamonds in place of the numerals on the dial and a golden background for the dial. In contrast, the Rolex Lady Datejust 31 has a green background for the dial and Roman numerals that are plated in gold on the dial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They do differ slightly in terms of pricing as well, albeit not significantly. The Lady Datejust 28 retails for $11,500, while the Lady Datejust 31 can be purchased for $11,950.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is There a Clear Winner Between These Two Timepieces?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After reviewing all of the evidence here, ultimately, we can\u2019t really say that one timepiece is superior to the other. Simply put, there are many more similarities than there are differences between these two watches. Because they are identical in terms of their technical specifications, if you are trying to choose between the two, you will most likely end up making your final decision based on the dial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking for something more polished and elegant in terms of the display, the Lady Datejust 28 will likely be the better choice for you.
