The new execution became known as the <strong>Cool Hand Brooklyn Skeleton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Meaning Behind the Name<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCool Hand Brooklyn\u201d combines two important cultural references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first is <em>Cool Hand Luke<\/em>, the 1967 film starring Paul Newman. Newman was closely associated with the Rolex Daytona, and vintage Daytona watches linked with him became some of the most celebrated chronographs in watch-collecting history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second is Brooklyn, the borough central to Spike Lee\u2019s identity and filmmaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lee\u2019s production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, is based in Brooklyn.
