Because the majority of soccer around the world is played in Europe and South America, this is often considered one of the most prestigious soccer tournaments in the world by many soccer aficionados, second only to the World Cup itself. Since its founding in 1955, Spanish teams have won the most Champion\u2019s League cups, with a total of 18. They are followed by England, which has won 14, and Italy, which has won a total of 12. Despite the fact that the event was founded 67 years ago, the competition has only been won by 22 clubs in total, with 13 of them having one it more than once and eight of those teams going on to have successfully defended their title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real Madrid is the most successful team in the tournament\u2019s history, having won the competition an impressive thirteen times. Chelsea FC is currently the defending champions, having beaten their fellow countrymen from Manchester City 1-0 in the final round of last year\u2019s tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is Carlo Ancelotti?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Carlo Ancelotti is the current manager of Real Madrid, a position which he previously occupied from 2013 to 2015. He began his career playing in his native Italy, for the Parma club, in 1976 at the age of 18. He would play professionally in Italy until retiring as a player in 1991, and he would begin his management career as an assistant in Italy the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though he was fairly highly regarded as a player, Ancelotti\u2019s greatest claim to fame has come in his second career as a manager. He is tied with Zinedine Zidane and Bob Paisley for the most Champion\u2019s League wins ever for a coach at 3, and he is also the only coach to have managed teams in five finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
