Rolex released the Rolex Tiffany Blue Oyster Perpetual 41mm wristwatch in 2020, along with a group of brightly colored dials. The OP41 was also released with dial colors in yellow, pink, red, green, and the sky blue color or \u201cTiffany Blue\u201d, along with the standard Rolex blue and black dials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rolex Tiffany Blue Oyster Perpetual is in no way an official Tiffany\u2019s watch. It does not have the Tiffany\u2019s stamp as seen on the version released by Patek Philippe on their Nautilus watch. The Tiffany\u2019s stamp only exists on the Patek Philippe Nautilus blue dial version of their watch, and on some vintage Rolexes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patek Philippe and Tiffany\u2019s have a long standing historical collaboration together, and the exclusivity of a Patek Philippe watch makes the Patek Philippe Nautilus Tiffany\u2019s watch even more valuable. Once Patek Philippe dropped their Nautilus Tiffany blue watch, any other Tiffany blue colored (or turquoise dial colored) watch became almost unattainable.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the pandemic, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual had its first jump in price, the turquoise Tiffany blue dial Rolex OP went up in price by six times! The Rolex OPs are referred to as an entry-level watch because it\u2019s the most basic three-handed Rolex you can get. It has no date function, no chrono pushers, and no rotating bezel. Although this Rolex doesn\u2019t have all the bells and whistles of one of their sports watches, the Rolex OP can be viewed as the purest expression of what Rolex has to offer; it has Rolex\u2019s iconic case, dial, movement, and bracelet \u2013 it\u2019s waterproof and features the Oyster perpetual case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

History of Rolex Oyster Perpetual<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The waterproof case for Rolex was first introduced in 1926, after Rolex patented it\u2019s screw-down crown for their watches. The following year, a Rolex OP was given to Mercedes Glitz, a woman who swam across the English Channel, and she wore a Rolex OP around her neck, giving the Rolex Oyster Perpetual its fame and glory. The Oyster case has large flanks which taper perfectly into the slender lugs of the watch. The word Perpetual was added to the watch in 1931, when Rolex came out with it\u2019s next big invention \u2013 the world\u2019s first self winding mechanism with the use of a rotor. The watch could now draw energy from the user’s movement. The rotor on the Rolex OP also now had Rolexes new caliber 3230, making it resistant to shock and immune to magnetism with an extended power reserve of up to 70 hours. The Rolex caliber 3230 movement also found its way into the Rolex Explorer and the Rolex Submariner with no date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41mm Tiffany Rolex came out, it was highly sought after with prices matching up to some of Rolex\u2019s more notable sports watches and others. In fact, the Tiffany Rolex cost even more than the Rolex with the Panda dial. The only reason for the outrageous price increase of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 is because of the Tiffany-colored dial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although viewed as an entry-level Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41mm, the Rolex Tiffany Blue Oyster Perpetual 41mm is priced amongst the most top of the line models. The Rolex Tiffany Blue Oyster Perpetual outweighs some of Rolexes most popular timepieces that exist, especially since the watch is viewed as more \u201cunique\u201d, it\u2019s referred to as the Tiffany Rolex even though it does not have the official stamp or any official partnership with Tiffany\u2019s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The OP41 wears beautifully on the wrist and can easily fit under a suit cuff. The steel case and dial don\u2019t offer much contrast between each other, giving it a more subtle look than some of the more \u201cdressed up\u201d Rolexes. Many view this wristwatch as a ladies watch but wears just as handsomely on a men\u2019s wrist. The bracelet on the Oyster Perpetual brings maximum comfort to the wearer, the Oyster links are slightly curved and align very nicely with your wrist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was the Tiffany Rolex Discontinued? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rolex does not announce when they discontinue a watch as they would when announcing a new release. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41mm Tiffany blue was in fact discontinued this year (2022). The Tiffany colored dial option is still available for the 31mm and 36mm Rolex Oyster Perpetuals. The yellow dial option and red dial option were also discontinued for all millimeter sizes of the Rolex OP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can be speculated that Rolex is trying to create a higher demand for the Tiffanys Rolex to create higher prices. It could also be assumed that Rolex notices the benefits from a secondary-market price point for Rolex to keep the brand in popular demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tiffanys Rolex can be priced as high as $60,000 on the secondary market, its original retail price was only $6,150. The price soared for the Tiffanys Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41mm to $30,000-$40,000 at auction; this was only weeks after the release of the Tiffany Blue Patek Philippe Nautilus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
