Shahrukh Khan was born on November 2, 1965, in New Dehli, India. His father, Mir Taj Mohammed Khan, was a restaurant owner. His mother, Lateef Fatima, was a homemaker and the daughter of a government official. The family lived a middle-class life in New Dehli throughout his childhood. He also has a sister, Shahnaz, who lives with Khan and his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In school, Khan excelled at athletics, including hockey and football. However, a shoulder injury in his youth would end his athletic career. As a result, he turned to his other great passion, which was acting. Khan attended several colleges in India but did not complete his studies at any of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shahrukh Khan\u2019s Early Show Business Career<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Khan first appeared as an actor in the 1989 television series Fauji<\/em>. The show focused on the lives of young army cadets, and he played the lead role of Abhimanyu Rai. He would continue to act in several other television shows, including Circus<\/em> and Idiot<\/em>, throughout the late 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in the early 1990s, he decided he wanted to focus more on film acting instead of television roles. He would debut as a film actor in Deewana<\/em>, which would debut in June of 1992. The film would become a box office hit and promptly launch his career in Bollywood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khan would star as a villain in two films in 1993 that would continue to increase his profile. The first was Baazigar<\/em>, where he played a murderer, and Darr<\/em>, where he would portray the role of an obsessive lover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After several years of playing villainous characters, Khan once again decided to change courses with his career goals. He wanted to move out of the villainous roles and play characters that were more likable and lighthearted. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge<\/em>, a romantic comedy that was released in 2995, allowed audiences to see Khan in a new light. He would continue to play these roles through the late 1990\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since that time, Khan has appeared in a number of films where he was acclaimed for his performances. In Devas, released in 2002, he would portray an alcoholic. This would be followed in 2004 by his role as a NASA scientist in Swades<\/em>, a hockey coach in Chak De! India<\/em>, and a man struggling with Asperger\u2019s Syndrome in My Name is Khan<\/em>, which was released in 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current Projects<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After taking a hiatus from acting in 2019, Khan has returned to the industry and has three films set to be released in 2023. The films are entitled Pathaan, Jawan,<\/em> and Dunki<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
