Andrea Pirlo Ufficiale OMRI (born 19 May 1979) is an Italian professional football coach and former player who is currently the head coach of S\u00fcper Lig club Fatih Karag\u00fcmr\u00fck. Pirlo was regarded as one of the best deep-lying playmakers of all time, and he was known for his vision, ball control, technique, creativity, passing, and free-kick ability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between 2006 and 2015, Pirlo finished in the top four of the IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker award five times. In 2011, he was named the UEFA Best Player in Europe, and in 2015, he finished seventh. He was named Serie A Footballer of the Year three times and four times to the Serie A Team of the Year. Pirlo was named to the 2012 UEFA Team of the Year, the 2015 UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season, and the 2006 FIFPro World XI. He also finished seventh in the 2007 FIFA World Players competition, three times in the Ballon d’Or, and was named an MLS All-Star in 2016. Pirlo was elected to the Italian Senate in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pirlo was named head coach of Serie C club Juventus U23 on July 30, 2020, following his retirement. He took over as manager of the first team nine days later, and in his first season, he won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His latest timepiece to be refurbished by Artisans De Gen\u00e8ve is his Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A. Pirlo revealed the new name, Ciottolo Azzurro, in an Instagram message (translated to Blue Pebble). He added, \u201cArtisans de Geneve has customized my Aquanaut. Azure and rose gold, with a skeleton movement to admire every part of it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The timepiece’s inspiration came from a blue shade that Andrea Pirlo associates with “the sea and freedom.” He also wanted the watch to have a skeleton movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Aquanaut dial is elevated from its already nitpicky Patek origins, The reworked intense blue and rose gold indexes provide a subtle contrast to the anthracite movement. The Patek 324 caliber was stripped down and several custom finishings were added. All finishes, from beveling to circular graining, are done by hand, adding depth, light, and that bespoke pop to the movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
