<\/a><\/p>\nThe Rolex Hulk Submariner<\/a> ref. 11610LV immediately earned it’s nickname “The Hulk” after it’s introduction at Baselworld in 2010. It’s beautiful green dial and bezel combination is something that even makes Ironman actor Robert Downey Jr. want one.\u00a0<\/p>\n Interestingly, in his role as Ironman, he said he was a fan of how Bruce Banner (the most recent Incredible Hulk actor) turned into a raging Green Monster and encouraged him to strut his stuff.\u00a0 In real life, Downey proudly showed off his Hulk on Youtube, but instead referred to it as his “Green Money Rolex.”\u00a0 The Hulk Submariner is certainly the color of the dollar bill.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The reference Submariner Hulk 11610LV is broader and sturdier than it’s predecessor, and it also features a Glidelock clasp which enables extension of the Oyster bracelet length via ratcheting increments.<\/p>\n It has a 40 mm case size and is made of pure stainless steel, both on the case and on the bracelet.\u00a0 It has a date window and is protected by a Sapphire crystal with cyclops lens over the date for additional visibility.<\/p>\n The Rolex Hulk Submariner is built on a historically popular and incredible timepiece.\u00a0 The Submariner has a tremendous history as a dive watch.\u00a0 Although Rolex had arguably the first waterproof case for a timepiece ever released, it wasn’t until 1953 that it put into production its Submariner – a timepiece that was built for divers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Of course it became popularized by James Bond, not only in Ian Flemming’s books, but also by the actor Sean Connery who wore his own diver on some of the early films.\u00a0 The timepiece took on its own role as Q added modifications to the timepiece such as lasers to cut through metal, and a circular blade saw which could also cut through objects.\u00a0<\/p>\n Although the modern Bond films have left the Submariner behind, the Rolex brand immediately soared in popularity.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The Submariner has incredible base features, even though it doesn’t actually contain a laser or circular saw blade.\u00a0 It supports a waterproofness depth of 1000 meters.\u00a0 It is further protected by its triplock waterproofness crown which has a triple gasket system and screws down tightly against the Oyster case, providing exceptional waterproofness even when diving to great depths.\u00a0<\/p>\n It is made from a solid block of 904L stainless steel which is corrosion-resistant.\u00a0 The bezel rotates only counterclockwise, allowing the diver to adequately calculate their dive time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The perpetual self-winding mechanism allows the timepiece to stay powered as long as you wear it, and for approximately 2 days when you don’t.\u00a0 Each timepiece is certified as a Swiss chronometer to be within 2 seconds of perfect time each day.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Submariner Hulk also has the new ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX engraved on the inner ring between the bezel and dial also known as the Flange or “Rehaut” in French.\u00a0 It has a laser etched Rolex Crown at the 6 o’clock mark.<\/p>\n Not unlike it’s other 2010 brethren from Rolex, incorporated in the new Submariner 11610LV, is the patented Cerachrom, an inlay of ceramic material within the bezel which is extremely scratch resistant. In this case, of course we see green, matching the green maxi dial.<\/p>\n This year there were quite a few rumors on how Rolex might change the Rolex Submariner.\u00a0 There hasn’t been many changes to this highly sought after brand, even though many of Rolex’s other timepieces have seen their entire timepiece reworked with a new and more powerful caliber with much longer power reserve.\u00a0<\/p>\n The rumor mill new that there would be changes and predicted that the Submariner would have its own rework in 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n When Rolex launched the new 2020 Rolex Submariner, the diver’s watch got the new updated movement as predicted.\u00a0 Rolex came out with a Green bezel and black dial Submariner, nicknamed the “Hermit”.\u00a0 However, nobody expected that Rolex would discontinue the “Hulk” Submariner.<\/p>\n Since the news of Rolex’s decision to eliminate this color combination Submariner, this Rolex Submariner<\/a> has become highly sought after and the prices have nearly doubled even on the pre-owned models.\u00a0 This is really ironic because when the “Hulk” was released it was not as desirable as the more expensive black Submariner.\u00a0 Although a collector could have picked up a “Hulk” for well under $10,000, a few years ago, it is not uncommon for a a perfect condition “Hulk” to go for just under $20,000 today.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Interestingly the green has been widely associated with the Rolex brand.
