The Rolex Yacht-Master 40<\/a> was originally worked on as a concept prototype back in the 1960s.\u00a0 However, Rolex didn’t release a Yacht-Master collection until the 1990s.\u00a0 It is very similar to the Rolex Submariner in terms of look and feel – including the rotating 60-minute bezel.\u00a0 It was in 1999 that Rolex launched the Rolesium version of the Yacht-Master.\u00a0 It was relaunched in 2012 and then again with the new movement in the past couple of years.<\/p>\n

Rolex Yacht-Master 40<\/h2>\n

The new Yacht-Master 40mm Reference 116622 utilizes Rolesium, a combination of Oystersteel and 950 platinum for a stunningly beautiful timepiece.\u00a0 The dial is a slate grey which adds a bit of interest and a dark background to the white luminescent hour markers surrounded by 18 ct white gold which jump out and are highly legible both day and night on this exquisite Rolex.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The bezel is a 950 platinum bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated with raised numerals. This two-tone color on the bezel adds interest and exceptional beauty to the overall timepiece.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Yacht-Master 40mm\u00a0Reference 116622 \u00a0has a center hour, minute, and a blue-colored seconds hand.\u00a0 The light blue color matches the Yacht-Master printed on the dial at the 6 o’clock position.\u00a0 It has an instantaneous date with rapid setting and stop-seconds for precise time setting.\u00a0 There is a date window at 3 o’clock with a Cyclops lens on the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.<\/p>\n

The Yacht-Master 40mm has a screw-down crown, with a Triplock triple waterproofness system, providing water resistance to 330 feet. The Reference 116622 comes with an Oystersteel bracelet and an Oysterlock safety clasp with Easylink 5 mm comfort extension link.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Yacht-Master Reference 126622 is powered by the new automatic 3235 caliber developed and manufactured entirely by Rolex.\u00a0 It has an unbelievable power reserve of 70 hours.\u00a0 The caliber 3235 is built with 201 total parts, and 31 jewels, and has a Paraflex shock system, a Parchrom Blue hairspring, and a chronology escapement.\u00a0 The Paramagnetic Oscillator protects the timepiece from being affected by magnetic interference.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The caliber 3235 was officially released in Baselworld 2017 and contains 14 patents.\u00a0 This new caliber is more accurate, energy efficient, and dependable than the older caliber.\u00a0 It is also less sensitive to magnetic interference.\u00a0 This caliber is so versatile that it appears in the Datejust 41, red Sea-Dweller 43 and the Rolex DeepSea.\u00a0 It was also recently added to the new Rolex Submariner.<\/p>\n
