The prototype submitted by Panerai in 1936 was called Radiomir, from the name of the luminescent substance used for hands and indices, and passed all tests successfully.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was the Panerai Radiomir \u2014 the watch that started the whole myth around the Italian watch brand. First exclusively made for Italian military divers, then a publicly available shelf warmer, and finally a global star after the brand had its famous breakthrough.
