The Tudor Black Bay reference M79230B-0008 is a beautiful model combining the dark polished sea blue bezel with the highly legible black dial. The white snowflake hands and luminescent hour markers and the markings of the dial jump out and make the timepiece one of the most readable watch faces in the industry. On the edge of the dial are grey minute/second markings – a color that further accentuates the whiteness of the luminescent hour markers. The hour markers and hands are surrounded by stainless steel – protecting the luminescent paint from spreading and staining the dial – often a problem on older timepieces.
The Tudor is known for the big winding crown at the 3 o’clock position, which makes it simple to to adjust the timepiece. The winding crown has the Tudor rose engraved on it – an exquisite touch. Tudor released its own in-house movement in 2015 – a high-performance calibre MT5602 which is certified by the COSC, and provides an outstanding 70-hour power reserve.
The M79230B-0008 is a diver’s watch with a waterproofness system that supports 660 feet of diving depth. It has a bidirectional rotor system allowing it to wind in either direction. Uncluttered by any date or day apertures or any dials of any kind this timepiece has a singular tool-like purpose – allowing the wearer to see time perfectly in next to any circumstances – in darkness and in light. The rotatable dial allows the diver to calculate their oxygen supply and dive time easily.
The 41mm steel case is joined by a domed sapphire crystal. The timepiece comes with a steel bracelet, aged leather, or fabric straps with each new timepiece. The fabric straps are a Tudor signature feature, being produced according to the “Jacquard” technique mastered by a century old family business from the St-Etienne region of France. The rivet steel bracelet shown above has a folding buckle and safety clasp.
Rubber B has developed 5 Vulcanized dual colored rubber bracelets engineered to fit the Tudor Black Bay reference M79230B-0008 and the Tudor deployant buckle. These straps are compatible with the Tudor buckle or any other standard 18mm tang buckle.
All Rubber B bands are made in Switzerland of pure vulcanized rubber.
