Though he has kept a somewhat lower profile over the last five or so years, Adrien Brody is still very much an A-list actor and producer, and very much still keeping busy. Though he’s been acting since 1989, when he made his film debut as Mel in “Life Without Zoe,” one-third of an anthology film about New York entitled New York Stories. The film was a three-part anthology series consisting of short films directed by three Hollywood legends – Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, and Francis Ford Coppola. Brody was all of 16 at the time, but he managed to parlay that initial appearance into a film and television career that still continues today.
Though many people are aware of Mr. Brody’s work as an actor, what they are likely to be less aware of is that he is also a collector of luxury timepieces as well. In honor of this, Rubber B has decided to spend a few moments examining both the career, and watch collection, of Adrien Brody.
Who is Adrien Brody?
Adrien Brody is an actor and producer who was born on April 14th, 1973 in New York, New York. His mother, Sylvia Plachy, worked for the Village Voice for many years as a photographer, and his father, Elliot Brody, was a history professor and painter. As a child, he performed magic shows at other children’s birthday parties, billing himself as “The Amazing Adrien.”
Brody began taking acting classes as a child and, by age thirteen, he had already appeared in both a made for PBS television film and an Off-Broadway play. He would appear in the 1998 film “Restaurant,” as well as appearing in the films “Summer of Sam” and “The Thin Red Line,” also released in 1998. Those films, directed by Spike Lee and Terrence Malick, respectively, helped to elevate Brody’s profile significantly. However, he would still continue to work in independent film for several years after that.
In 2002, Brody would appear in the film that would elevate him to international success – Roman Polanski’s “The Pianist.” He would go on to win an Academy Award for Best Actor at only 29 years old, making him the youngest person to have ever done so. He is also remembered for kissing Halle Berry, who was presenting the award, a moment which has since generated some controversy.
Since his Oscar win, Brody has enjoyed a varied career in both film and television, often alternating between larger, more commercial studio products, and smaller-scaleindependent films. Being that Brody is still a fairly young man, and a tremendously talented performer, it is likely that we will continue to see him on both the large, and small, screen well into the future.
What Kind of Watches Does Adrien Brody Have in His Collection?
It seems that Mr. Brody developed an appreciation for fine watched around 2012, and since that time, he has developed quite a collection.
One of the pieces he is more frequently seen wearing is his Panerai Luminor GMT, which he most recently wore on the cover of Vogue. The cover shoot was part of an interview to promote “Dragon Blade,” a highly successful Chinese historical feature film that Brody was one of the leads in. According to an interview he gave in the Hollywood Reporter around the same time, Brody stated that he loved the watch because “I gravitate toward a substantial yet classic look. This one is elegant but also durable enough for my active lifestyle.”

This watch is particularly popular among celebrities, and Brody has stated that “I like this one especially because it’s completely housed in carbon fiber. Plus, like most of the watches in my collection, it’s waterproof.”
He also owns the following watches as well:
· Jacob & Co.’s hand-wound Epic X Black Titanium
