8 Alternative Bands for the Panerai Luminor 1950 PCYC 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Acciaio - 44mm – Reference PAM006548

The Panerai Luminor 1950 PCYC 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Acciaio – 44mm – Reference PAM00654 is powered by the calibre P.9100 – designed and created by Officine Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. It features 37 jewels, a Glucydur® balance, a Incabloc® anti-shock device and has a 3 day power reserve.  It was built with 302 components and moves with a frequency of 28,800 alterations per hour.

The reference PAM00654 has an hour and a minutes hand.  The seconds is in a small seconds aperture on the dial at the 9 o’clock position.  The chronograph functions are elegantly introduced on the PAM00654 in unique way as compared to the Rolex Daytona, for example.  The hour counter makes its uniform appearance at the 3 o’clock position, with the hand outline in blue rather than in gold as it is on the small seconds hand. Following through with the blue, is the long blue chronograph seconds hand matching the chronograph seconds.  However the chrono minutes is indicated by a long minutes hand in a gold color.

The reference PAM00654 has beige hour markers and luminescent markings on the hands which turns a blue-green in darkness. Even the small seconds and power indicator are illuminated. The hour markers appear as dots on all locations except at the 4 corners.  12 o’clock is indicated by 2 luminescent bars and 6 o’clock has one bar.  The 3 and 6 o’clock positions have no hour indicator but are illuminated by the small seconds and chrono dials.

The PAM00654 has a 44 mm case with a polished steel bezel and case.  The large winding crown is protected by a brushed steel crown protecting lock-down mechanism which is a trademark of Panerai.  Due to the large locking mechanism, Panerai has located the chrono pushers on the left side of the timepiece.  The PAM00654 has the useful flyback function. This enables the chronograph hands which are already running to be returned instantaneously to zero and restarted without first having to stop them, return them to zero and then restart them. This function is controlled by the pusher at eight o’clock, which is also used to return both hands to zero when the chronograph has already stopped.

The Panerai Luminor 1950 PCYC 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Acciaio – 44mm – Reference PAM00654 is water-resistant to 300 feet.  It is protected by a Sapphire crystal formed of corundum.  Even in darkness the black dial and greenish luminescent hue make an impressive statement.  The Officine Panerai timepiece is fitted with a Calf brown leather bracelet with beige stitching on the 24/22 mm lugs.

On the back side of the timepiece is an engraving of an elegant classic yacht on the back, beneath the inscription PANERAI CLASSIC YACHTS CHALLENGE.  The tachymeter scale in knots printed on the flange, which enables the average speed of the yacht over a particular distance (one nautical mile) to be measured by the chronograph minute hand.
