For this particular blog entry, we are going to venture a little bit outside of the traditional parameters that we have set and learn more about the Champions League, as well as two of that league’s most esteemed coaches, Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola. If you are not an avid soccer fan, it is likely that you have never heard these names before, but these two men are known for being avid watch collectors, which gives us an opportunity to talk more about the league itself, these two coaches, their accomplishments, and finally, their highly impressive watch collections.
Guide to the Champions League – UCL cup
What is the Champion’s League?
The Champion’s League is an annual soccer tournament that is held among the elite soccer teams in Europe annually, often during the end of June, with a preliminary round. The tournament is only open to European teams that have qualified by winning a certain number of matches throughout the year, hence the name of the event. Playing in the tournament occurs only by invitation.
Because the majority of soccer around the world is played in Europe and South America, this is often considered one of the most prestigious soccer tournaments in the world by many soccer aficionados, second only to the World Cup itself. As a result, the tournament is one of the most watched sporting events around the world each year.
UEFA Champions League
Since its founding in 1955, Spanish teams have won the most Champion’s League cups, with a total of 18. They are followed by England, which has won 14, and Italy, which has won a total of 12. Despite the fact that the event was founded 67 years ago, the competition has only been won by 22 clubs in total, with 13 of them having one it more than once and eight of those teams going on to have successfully defended their title.
Real Madrid is the most successful team in the tournament’s history, having won the competition an impressive thirteen times. Chelsea FC is currently the defending champions, having beaten their fellow countrymen from Manchester City 1-0 in the final round of last year’s tournament.
Who is Carlo Ancelotti?
Carlo Ancelotti is the current manager of Real Madrid, a position which he previously occupied from 2013 to 2015. He began his career playing in his native Italy, for the Parma club, in 1976 at the age of 18. He would play professionally in Italy until retiring as a player in 1991, and he would begin his management career as an assistant in Italy the following year.
Though he was fairly highly regarded as a player, Ancelotti’s greatest claim to fame has come in his second career as a manager. He is tied with Zinedine Zidane and Bob Paisley for the most Champion’s League wins ever for a coach at 3, and he is also the only coach to have managed teams in five finals.

What Kinds of Watches are in Carlo Ancelotti’s Collection?
Ancelotti seems to have very refined taste in his choice of watches, as he owns an IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar in Rose Gold, which remains one of the most complicated watches that the company has ever produced.

Who is Jürgen Klopp?
If you follow world football, you’re aware that Liverpool Football Club is in the midst of a purple patch of form and results not seen since the mid-eighties. Despite a weekend draw with Tottenham, the club is still on course for an unprecedented four major trophies this season, and a large part of this success can be attributed to their talismanic manager, Jurgen Klopp. Klopp has presided over the most successful period in the club’s modern history since joining in 2015.
Jürgen Klopp as Liverpool Manager
Jürgen Klopp is one manager who seems to be loved by everyone, regardless of team colors. The laid-back German is an undeniable managerial great who manages to stay true to his roots both on and off the field. He wears an IWC. Klopp chooses the underrated Aquatimer, specifically the Perpetual Calendar Digitate Date-Month Edition “50 Years Aquatimer,” over the usual pilots’ pieces. The black Ceratanium – a fusion of ceramic and titanium – case is difficult to overlook despite its unappealing name.

It is an appropriate choice for this modern-day super coach. And, while he is not an official IWC ambassador, if Liverpool wins all four major trophies this season, we believe he deserves to treat himself to another commemorative purchase to mark this unprecedented feat for a Premier League club. Given his steadfast brand loyalty, could an IWC Jurgen Klopp edition be a possibility in the future? In any case, no matter how his watch box grows or the outcome of Liverpool’s season, Klopp will no doubt be smiling on the touchline for a few years to come.
How many Champions Leagues have Liverpool won?
Liverpool has won the European Cup six times, while Real Madrid has won it 13 times, however, both teams have finished second on three prior occasions.

He began playing professionally in 1988 with Barcelona, where he would spend the majority of his career, and retired as a player in 2006 while playing in Mexico with the Dorados FC. He would begin working as a manager in 2007 with Barcelona B before going to back to manage his old club the following year. He has coached Manchester City since 2016, leading the team to their first Premier League title in 2018.
