Hu Bing Enjoying His Panerai Luminor Submersible. He is wearing it, above, with the Panerai Submersible rubber strap.
Born in 1971, Hu Bing is a top Chinese actor, model, singer, designer and producer. In the early 1990’s Hu Bing became the first Chinese male model to walk the international fashion runway. He has become the face of Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino among others.
Interestingly Bing started as a national athlete, winning the Chinese National Rowing Championship at only 16 years old. He achieved 7th in the 1989 World Rowing Championships and was part of the 1988 Summer Olympics Chinese team that competed in Seoul, South Korea. Even though he suffered a back injury that forced him to end his athletic ambitions, his sculpted body and attractive features led him to fashion modeling.
Soon, he became targeted for TV and Movie deals. Early on he performed in the made for TV dramas The New York Storm (1996) and The Everlasting Dream (1997) before hitting it big with the highly successful Chinese TV drama Love Talks (1999). He performed In other TV dramas Pink Girls (2001) and Saying Goodbye (2002). This period between 1997 to 2004 became the most productive years for his acting as he stared in numerous films and TV shows.
He joined Japan’s top female celebrity Norika Fujiwara in 2011 as a talk show host, and he crossed over to becoming a highly popular Japanese celebrity. This led to a role next to Naoto Takenak in Ken and Mary (2011).
Although he hasn’t transitioned into US film, he has studied acting in the US using one of the top acting coaches in Hollywood. However, his long resume in both Chinese/Japanese Television and Film is wide and long enough to earn his place as a legend in the business. However, I wouldn’t doubt if the English speaking world will see Hu Bing on the silver screen in the near future. Bing’s talent, dashing appeal, and work ethic will continue to drive him to greater success.
Hu Bing Enjoying His Panerai Luminor Submersible
It is a bit difficult to see the exact model of Panerai Luminor Submersible that Hu Bing is wearing. Although it appears to be gold, somewhat similar to the Goldtech model PAM01164 it doesn’t have the black bezel. It is possible that it could be a Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo Reference PAM00671 because it does have the gold-like hue shining off the timepiece. Of course it has a different band – a black Panerai rubber band.
Yet again, the lighting is a deep yellow light, so it could also be a stainless steel timepiece which is appearing with golden color due to the reflection of the golden light. A timepiece like the Luminor Submersible 1950 Regatta 3 Days GTM Automatic Titanio Reference PAM00371 not only fits the large size of the timepiece but also has the Rubber band that he is wearing.
Regardless of the exact Panerai Luminor Submersible Hu Bing is wearing, he certainly has excellent taste. These beefy Italian timepieces are made with up to 47mm sized cases and provide a powerful set of features.
Besides the hours, minutes, small seconds window and the date, it has the divers’ capabilities. Markings on the bezel give a diver the ability to time their dives and schedule their decompression stops. It supports an excellent depth of 300 meters. The bezel rotates counterclockwise for exact air measurements.
The Panerai Sub is an exceptional dive watch, made with the Rolexesque style case that originally was manufactured by Rolex. Panerai added their stamp of uniqueness to the timepiece with its locking crown protector. Combined with scratch resistant sapphire crystal, this timepiece can take a beating and work for years.
It is likely powered by the automatic P.9010 caliber which contains 3 days of power reserve, and has a Glucydur balance and an Incabloc anti-shock device to keep it working even under stressful situations.
Rubber B has a wide variety of watch bands for the Panerai timepiece. Since we are unsure about which exact timepiece Hu Bing is wearing, we are making an assumption it is likely similar to the one pictured above here.
This timepiece accompanied by Rubber B’s Expresso Brown SwimSkin Rubber Cuff Series band. It has the appearance of a Combat strap made from Kevlar but is actually 100% vulcanized rubber. Rubber B has 5 exquisite colors in the Rubber Cuff series. This band is battle tested with our tortion testing procedure, Hydroturf Marine Thread and vulcanized rubber.
Rubber B offers SwimSkin “Alligator” bands that look like Alligator leather but are 100% rubber, and the Ballistic series which has a more machine or fabric look to it. The classic series provides the traditional Rubber B look with tightly calibrated “Blocked Integration” of the band to the case.
