He even started to get romantic-comedy leading male roles in Love & Other Drugs (2010) an excellent movie where he played opposite Anne Hathaway. Gyllenhaal finally transitioned into a truly male lead in the sports drama Southpaw (2015) where he plays a boxer.
Gyllenhaal has also appeared in multiple broadway performances, and even received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play for his performance in Sea Wall/A Life. Although he was considered for the role of Spider-Man, he never quite made it to the role. However, he did appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home as the villain Mysterio.

Jake Gyllenhaal has made a fine choice with selecting the Rolex Submariner as his daily timepiece. It is an exceptional timepiece that is ready for action. This versatile timepiece is not unlike Gyllenhaal’s acting versatility, since it can be great with a business suit or in a wet suit.

The Triplock triple waterproofness system provides water resistance to an outstanding depth of 1000 feet.
Rolex developed the waterproof Oyster case back in the 1920’s. Rolex combined both a patented system for screwed down the bezel, case-back and purchasing the rights to the patent by Paul Perregaux and Georges Peret in 1925 which protected their screw-down crown design. This combination created the first waterproof and dustproof timepiece and started Rolex down the path of creating exceptional watches that were not only good for swimming, but also for diving. The legacy of the Oyster case lives on to today in the Submariner and many other Rolex timepieces.
However, as diving started to rise to relevance due to enhanced diving gear and safety precautions, Rolex doubled their efforts to create a timepiece that could keep up with these human pioneers of the deep. In 1954 they introduced two Submariner models at the Basel Watch Fair. Over time, the Submariner has been modified to include an escapement valve and other features to allow it to descend to depths of 4000 feet on the Sea-Dweller model and 12,800 feet in the Rolex Deepsea model.
The Submariner has exceptional visibility both in daytime and in nighttime. Gyllenhaal can enjoy the large hour markers and distinctive white dots on the stark black dial, surrounded by steel during the daytime, and a bright blue luminescence when in the dark.
Gyllenhaal seems to favor the Oystersteel model with black dial, and black bezel with the date window. This beautiful timepiece is listed for $9150 on the Rolex site but currently sells for much more than that at retail due to the increased demand for Rolex timepieces. It is difficult to tell from the picture how old the Submariner is that Gyllenhaal is wearing. However, no matter the version, the same classic Oyster case and superlative features Rolex is known for will provide lasting value to the highly acclaimed actor.
