Panerai watchmaking company was founded in 1860 in Florence, Italy by Giovanni Panerai. These Italian watches were made specifically to fulfill the demand and requirements of military divers, submariners, and commandos who were assigned to critical underwater tasks. Until the 1980s, Panerai timepieces were exclusively for military clients. Although, at the beginning of the 1990s Panerai began selling this legendary timepiece to the public.
Throughout the years, Panerai has continued to follow a common style and design language for all of its watches, with austere black faces and luminous Arabic numerals. Other common features are a large cushion case highly legible and simple dial and a broad assortment of straps.
Panerai wrist watches have incorporated various innovations, including their technology of radium-based luminescence, in which the dial can be read from a distance and it shines with a little be of charge at night time.
The terms “Radiomir” and “Luminor” originally referred to the patented luminescent substances used in each Panerai model. Today, the title refers to the watch cases.
Panerai watches such as Luminor Marina 44mm, Luminor 1950 44mm, and Luminor Submersible 44mm are a great match and compatible with our Rubber B watchbands.
