“Paneristi”
A non-official reference to Panerai fans. Complimentary, when spoken of in a positive and endearing light, such as fan-ship, knowledge of the brand’s history and reverence for their products. Of course, a Paneristi would be familiar with all of the following terms…
“Destro”
A left-hand version Panerai with its crown on the left side of the case.
“Device Protecting the Crown”
Panerai trademarked this moniker which describes the signature crown protector used on the Luminor series.
“Fiddy”
A nickname for the Panerai 1950 PAM 127 which was a special edition from 2002.
“Pre-Vendome”
Refers to Panerai watches which were produced between 1993 and 1997, prior to the acquisition of Officine Panerai by Vendome (now known as the Richemont group), These models are refered to as “Pre-Vendome”.
“Sandwich Dial”
Panerai dials in which the numbers and minute markers are cut out of the metal plate which forms the visible dial (behind the crystal). Behind this is yet a a second metal plate with recessed areas where a thick luminous paste is applied. These areas correspond to the cut-outs in the first metal plate – thus ‘sandwiching’ the luminous material between the two metal plates.
“The Ultimate Rubber Strap for Panerai”
A Rubber B strap, made of vulcanized rubber and precisely engineered to be the first blocked-integration strap for Panerai watches. A true innovation from Switzerland, with love.
