A pre-eminent creator of custom rubber watch straps, Rubber B has spent the last twelve years crafting watch straps for watches for some of the most highly respected watchmakers in both Europe and North America, including Rolex, Tudor, and Apple. Rubber B has a wide selection of colors, styles, and materials to choose from for these timepieces, and all of these straps are made exclusively from 100% vulcanized rubber.
This particular blog entry is going to be rather unique. No less a beloved dignitary than the world’s foremost ambassador of goodwill and cheer himself, Santa Clause stopped by the Rubber B office this year in preparation for the Christmas season. If ever there was a person who needed to make sure they were keeping accurate time during work hours, it would certainly be Santa!
Santa came to our Rubber B location with a very specific purpose in mind. He wanted to upgrade the straps for his watch collection, as his watches often have to endure some pretty intense weather and working conditions. Below, Rubber B will share a list of not only the watches in Santa Clause’s collection but also some of the straps that he purchased for his timepieces.
Rolex GMT Watches
Considering their reputation as one of the premiere watchmakers in the world, it should not come as much of a surprise that Santa Clause would be a Rolex connoisseur. Santa owns two different versions of the Rolex GMT watch – the 126719BLRO and the 126720VTNR, which he purchased for Mrs. Clause as a gift this year, adding a white Rubber B strap to compliment her winter spirit.
The 126719BLRO, which is better known as the Rolex GMT-Master II, is one of Rolex’s most popular watch product lines. GMT watches are known for their ability to display the hour in multiple time zones at once, which is a very useful tool for someone who needs to travel so much in a short period of time.
The 126720VTNR is the most current iteration of the GMT-Master II line. While the older model has a red, white, and blue color scheme, which has led to it often being called the “Pepsi” watch among collectors, this most recent version has an entirely different color scheme. It elegantly blends a black dial with a green coloring for a peaceful, tranquil appearance that is very evocative of nature.
Regarding alternative straps for these watches, Santa admires the quality and craftsmanship of the Rubber B Ballistic straps. He purchased two types of straps one in Arctic White and Vulchromatic Green for these timepieces.

Rolex GMT Vs Tudor Black Bay GMT:

Tudor GMT Watches
Did you know that Santa doesn’t only use one type of watch? He is known to be fond of several watch brands, among them Tudor timepieces. Tudor is well-known for making several high-quality GMT watches as well, and in Santa’s case, he elected to go with the M79830RB-0001 model.
The Tudor GMT shares many qualities with the Rolex GMT-Master II, which served as an inspiration for this piece, both in terms of its rotatable bezel and color scheme. This watch is slightly bigger than the Rolex iteration, as it has an extra millimeter in its case and comes in at 41 mm.
While this is an excellent watch, one of the best things about the Tudor is that it costs significantly less than the Rolex GMT-Master II. For those who are considering their first GMT watch, this is an excellent place to start.
To match the look of this watch, Santa ended up selecting a Jet Black and Red Devil Vulchromatic rubber strap.
GMT Vs Dual Time Watch?
When asked about whether he preferred using Dual Time Zone or GMT watches, Santa explained that he tended to use the GMT watches more, even though Dual Time Zone watches are actually easier to use. The reason for this is that Dual Time Zone watches are relatively straightforward – they simply monitor two different time zones in the world at the same time.
GMT watches, on the other hand, require knowledge of time zones and some math to actually use correctly. However, because Santa has to be monitoring the time in multiple locations at the same time, the GMT allows him to have more information in real-time, which allows him to plan a more efficient flight path for himself and his reindeer.
Patek Philippe Nautilus Watches
As we’ve mentioned previously in this piece, few people encounter more intense working conditions than Santa Clause. Therefore, it would completely stand to reason that Santa would want to have a Patek Philippe watch. His personal favorite from the venerated watchmakers happens to be the Nautilus Dual Time Watch 5726A.
The Nautilus Dual Time Watch 5726A is the most recent iteration of the Nautilus watch line, which is arguably their most popular product line. It contains all of the hallmarks that collectors have come to expect from a Patek watch, including the unique octagonal shape of the case.
This particular Patek watch is a bit complicated to use, but Santa actually explained how to use it in a surprisingly straightforward way – he’s clearly a watch expert. To begin with, the wearer should turn the time to 6 A.M. of whatever the next day of the week is from the current day.
While the hour hand and the minute hand can be adjusted using the tuner on the right side of the watch, the second hand and the month must be adjusted using a special tool on the two dimples of the right side of the watch.
It is important to note that the wearer should not, under any circumstances, attempt to adjust the second hand or change the month without using the tool provided by Patek. Pressing on the dimples of the watch by hand can seriously damage the mechanisms inside of the watch.
The moon phase calendar can also be adjusted using the bottom dimple on the left side of the watch. Again, the moon phase calendar should only be changed by using the specially crafted tool that Patek provides.
Santa made a surprising choice for this watch, as he opted to go for the SwimSkin® Twill rubber watch strap. Then again, an important part of Santa’s work is that he is not seen while delivering presents, so maybe this should not be such a surprise after all.
Audemars Piguet Watches – Royal Oak Offshore
Few watches in history have such a dramatic story behind them as the Royal Oak Offshore does. Conceived and created while Audemars Piguet was financially struggling in the 1970s, this watch is credited for not only turning the company’s future around in tremendous fashion but also causing a landscape shift in what was considered an acceptable design for luxury watches.
Today, the watch is considered to be one of the most popular pieces to see in celebrity watch collections. Everyone from musicians to athletes seems to love this watch, and it certainly makes sense that Santa would want to take a page from such an esteemed company.
Santa mentioned that he was quite a fan of this particular watch, mainly because of how durable it is. He attributed that to a number of different reasons. He mentioned that because the watch had a 44 mm case, it was considerably sturdier than a lot of other watches on the market.
He also appreciated that all of the pushers and crown guards on this watch were ceramic-tipped. That proved to be particularly useful when traveling in colder environments, as the ceramic is less likely to weather.
Finally, he mentioned being a fan of the “Mega Tapisserie” dial, which is to say that he enjoys the waffle pattern on the dial of the watch. That feature is unique to watches from AP.
For this watch, Santa got the blue and white alligator strap. He was a fan of the craftsmanship of this lovely strap, and he admired how durable it was as well.
IWC Watches – Pilot’s Timezoner Edition “Le Petit Prince” Automatic Blue Dial IW395503
IWC is a watch brand that has a unique connection with the aviation industry. It began as a company that produced watches specifically for pilots in the 1940s, as commercial aviation was entering the mainstream at the time. In the same fashion as Santa, these new pilots needed to be able to keep track of two or more time zones at the same time.
This watch is an incredibly special piece, though, as it was made to commemorate the author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, author of the literary classic “The Little Prince” and a noted aviator himself. The striking blue dial is elegant and thoughtful, and the Timezoner feature within the watch reflects the original spirit of aviator watches that the company started with.
Santa is particularly fond of this watch, so he ended up purchasing two straps for it instead of one. The first was the SwimSkin® Ballistic rubber strap, and the other was the SwimSkin® Alligator strap, which, despite its name, is still made with 100% rubber. eco-friendly vegan straps:

Panerai Watches – Panerai Luminor 1950 8 Days Chrono Monopulsante GMT PAM 00317
Panerai began as a company that produced watches and other gear for the Italian Royal Navy, so their watches are some of the most durable in the world. And considering how much time Santa spends in places that are wet and cold, he needs a watch that can handle the water and other inclement weather.
As chronographs go, the Panerai Luminor 1950 8 Days Chrono Monopulsante GMT PAM 00317 is efficient, resilient, elegant, and above all us, reliable. Those are all traits Santa admires, so this watch was a natural fit for the veteran Italian watchmakers.

For this watch, he chose a rubber strap in a red color, because it happens to fit Santa’s personal style to a T, of course.
Omega Watches – 300 Heritage 41mm Blue Dial 234.30.41.21.03.001
One of the most recent watch in Santa’s collection is very much appropriate for an international man of mystery such as St. Nick. The Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage is timeless and elegant, and much like Santa himself, will be around for decades to come. If a watch is used by James Bond, then it certainly meets all of Santa’s needs when he is out delivering presents.
For this particular watch, he selected the SwimSkin® Alligator rubber strap and a SwimSkin® Ballistic watch strap.
We asked Santa if he owned an Apple watch, and he mentioned that although he previously owned one, Mrs. Clause was using it to check in on him and monitor his location a bit too much for his liking. He also mentioned a fondness for quality craftsmanship and that he appreciates the work of established watchmakers very much.
When we asked Santa why he had so many watches, he explained that these were only for this Christmas. As he moves throughout the evening each Christmas, he changes to a different watch set to a different time zone, as it’s better than changing them out manually. He also keeps his collection of watches from each Christmas specially stored away in a room in his home.
Who played bernard in the santa clause? I don’t remember?
We also asked Santa what his favorite movie was, and although he couldn’t settle on one, he did express a fondness for Tim Allen’s “The Santa Clause.” He asked us who played Bernard in that film, and we reminded him that it was veteran character actor David Krumholtz, who Santa is a fan of.

Breitling Watches – Super Avenger II Chronograph and Navitimer World
Santa is clearly aware of Breitling’s history as one of the world’s oldest and most trusted watch brands because he owns no less than two watches from the company. And as you might expect, they are two of the best pieces that the company has to offer.
For a job as challenging and time-dependent as Santa’s, the Super Avenger II Chronograph is the perfect watch for the man or woman who is frequently on the move. The watch is noted for its durability, and at an impressive 48 mm, this sturdy chronograph is designed to last for decades.
Considering the global scale of Santa’s operation, the Breitling Navitimer World A2432212 is a reliable second Breitling watch to have. Santa got this rubber watch strap for the first watch and this elegant alligator strap for the second one.
One of the things that Santa loves most about Rubber B is the fact that these watch straps look and replicate the feeling of animal skin, such as leather or alligator, without actually harming any animals. He is also not a fan of leather, as it does not last for a long period of time in cold weather. He was very enthusiastic about the long life span that Rubber B watch straps have.
