The Panerai Luminor 1950 Reference 661 has a rugged beauty. Made from Carbotech which is a composite material based on carbon fiber, it sets the bar as the first time such material has been utilized in the world of watchmaking. It has a black matt appearance which looks uneven, making each timepiece unique. The Carbontech is formed with carbon fibers and a high-end polymer PEEK, which binds the composite material and makes it extremely strong and free from corrosion.
The movement is an automatic P.9010 which is made out of 200 components, 31 jewels and oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. It has a 3-day power reserve. The luminescent hour and minute hands, and small seconds window at 9 o’clock gives the timepiece visibility. It has luminescent hour markers and Arabic numerals at 12, 9 and 6 o’clock. Only the date window at 3 o’clock is missing a luminescent coating.
The Panerai Luminor 1950 Reference 661 has a sapphire crystal made from corundum, and a 44 mm case. The timepiece has a water resistance of 300 meters. The leather strap is made from Brown and Beige Calf Ponte Vecchio and is 24/22 MM.
Rubber B has developed 6 solid color straps and 2 dual-colored SWISS MADE bracelets for the Panerai Luminor 1950 Reference 661. The vulcanized rubber straps are precisely calibrated for the 44mm Luminor 1950 model and utilize “Block Integration” engineering for a flawless, motionless mount to the Panerai case. These straps include a 316L stainless steel tang buckle, but also perfectly fit the original Panerai buckle.
All Rubber B straps are made in Switzerland of pure vulcanized rubber. They are designed for rugged wear, and sports activity like swimming and diving. These alternative straps are a perfect complement to the rugged beauty of the Panerai Luminor 1950 Reference 661.
