Rubber B has become well-known as a highly respected crafter of custom rubber watch bands for timepieces from some of the most respected watchmakers in the field, including such brands as Patek Philippe, IWC, and Breitling. Rubber B has a variety of straps in different colors and styles in our product portfolio that are appropriate for both business/formal wear and more casual situations as well.

In this blog entry, we are going to be learning more about the watch collection of England’s Royal Family. Each member of the family has a fairly distinctive personality, of course, so it will be interesting to see what kinds of timepieces they own, and what they say about the people who wear them.

What Watches Do the Royal Family Wear?

Queen Elizabeth’s Watch Collection

As both the most visible, and most loved member, of the royal family, it only seems right that we start with the Queen’s watch collection, as she has been collecting watches for far longer than any other member of the family. She is actually known to be a keen watch collector and has been for the last several decades.

She seems to favor pieces from Patek Philippe and Jaeger-LeCoultre, whose Caliber 101 she wore when she was coronated back in 1953. That watch was developed in the 1920’s and is believed to contain the smallest watch movement in the world. In 2012, Jaeger-LeCoultre gave Queen Elizabeth II a modern version of the Caliber 101 for her Diamond Jubilee, which was celebrated in 2012.

She is known to have previously owned a Vacheron Constantin timepiece, which she gave to Princess Diana as a wedding gift after her marriage to Prince Charles. She also owns an Omega Ladymatic, which she has been in possession of since the early 1970’s, and a Patek Philippe Golden Eclipse as well – a watch that Canadian rapper Drake is also a fan of as well. In more recent public appearances, she has been seen wearing an Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars.

Prince Charles – The Prince of Wales

Prince Charles, also known as the Prince of Wales, seems to share his mother’s fondness for watch collecting. And, like his mother, he does seem to own several timepieces by Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Patek Philippe, though he favors watches by several lesser-known watchmakers, including Breguet, Hamilton, and Parmigiani.

The fondness for Parmigiani is of particular note, because, in comparison to many other Swiss watchmakers, Parmigiani is a very new company, as it was only founded in 1996. However, its Fleurier Toric has been Charles’s watch of choice for public outings for many years now.

Charles’s watch collection also contains a custom Breguet, which was given to him by the company as a 60th birthday present, a Patek Philippe Disco Volante, which he has owned since he was a young man, a Hamilton RAF Pilot’s Chronograph, which he received in the early 1970’s, while training as a jet pilot, and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso.

Prince William – The Duke of Cambridge

The elder of the Prince Charles’s and the former Princess Diana’s two sons, the current Duke of Cambridge will likely become the future King of England at some point in the not-so-distant future. And while he certainly inherited that royal title from his family, one thing he has not seemed to inherit is their interest in collecting watches.

Before his late mother’s passing, she gifted him an Omega Seamaster Professional, and he has seemingly worn it everywhere when it comes to notable events, including his wedding to Kate Middleton and the premier of the latest Bond film, “No Time to Die,” in London.

Kate Middleton – Duchess of Cambridge

Despite the fact that she could easily procure more wristwatches if she so chose, the Duchess of Cambridge is only ever seen with one wristwatch – a Cartier Ballon Bleu. The watch features a silver dial and blue sword-shaped hands, which complements her sapphire engagement ring.

Prince Harry – The Duke of Sussex

Even though technically, he and his wife, Meghan Markle, no longer use their royal honorifics, it would be unusual to not mention them in this article, so we have decided to include them anyway, as we still consider them to be part of the royal family.

Despite being the younger of the two brothers, there’s an argument that Harry is something of an “old soul,” and one of the pieces of evidence for that case is the fact that he has more than one wristwatch.

He is often seen wearing a limited edition Rolex Explorer II, of which there are only 48 pieces in the world. It was specially made for members of his Apache attack helicopter regiment, which served in Afghanistan during the War on Terror.

He also owns a Breitling Aerospace Advantage, which has been presented to Apache pilots who have flown in combat missions. The dial features a picture of an Apache helicopter at the 3 o’clock position and the logo of the Army Air Corps Wings at 9 o’clock.

Meghan Markle – The Duchess of Sussex

One of the more controversial figures to enter (and then leave) the Royal Family over the last several decades, Meghan Markle has been known to wear two Cartier Tank watches – one a traditional Cartier Tank, which is her own, and the other, a Cartier Tank Francaise, which previously belonged to Princess Diana.
