Two Tone Rubber Strap for Rolex Milgauss

The two-tone Rubber Strap for Rolex Milgauss is a new advancement in vulcanized rubber watchband design. Before we discuss these exciting new band options by Rubber B, let’s dive into the history that makes Rolex’s Milgauss a stunning and historical timepiece.

Rubber Strap for Rolex Milgauss

Introduced in 1956, the Rolex Milgauss gets its name because it is able to stand magnetic fields of up to 1000 (mil) gauss. The model is shown above (reference # 116400GV) features a Z-blue dial, giving this scientific instrument a cool new look.

The case is a solid 40 mm design with a smooth bezel – both made of Rolex Oystersteel.  Although the case is a standard Oyster, the luminescent hour markers are dashes rather than dots.  

The coloring just inside the bezel on the dial includes numerals 5 through 60 at 5-second or minute intervals in orange writing.  The orange theme is also used in the Milgauss name printed on the dial, the hour markers at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, and most notably on the jagged lightning bolt seconds hand.  

Although green is not used in the watch, the sapphire crystal has a green ring that forms at the edge where the bezel meets the glass.  The combined coloring of orange and green offers a unique and colorful blend that is stunning and eye-catching.  

This timepiece is still powered by Rolex’s older generation self-winding caliber 3131.  The magnetic shield is what separates it from other timepieces on the market.  It provides a 48-hour power reserve and has stop-seconds for accurate time settings.  It winds in both directions while you are wearing it.

The Rolex Milgauss has a screw-down crown, but no lugs on either side.  The crown is protected with a twin-lock double waterproofing system and supports a depth of 330 feet.

Rolex does not provide a rubber strap for Rolex Milgauss.  Instead, they ship the timepiece with an Oyster bracelet with 3 piece links.  It has a folding Oysterclasp with an Easylink 5 mm comfort extension link system.  

Rubber B designed the ultimate rubber strap for Rolex Milgauss. The color detail on the straps compliments the different color combinations of the Milgauss dials.

Rubber B hasn’t stopped at just the two-tone option band.  It also has 4 solid color bands which complement the Rolex Milgauss color scheme.  The below Orange Band ties in the coloring from the touches of orange throughout the timepiece and extends that look through the band.  

Rubber B has a white band and blue band that looks spectacular on the older model Rolex Milgauss which features a white dial and orange dash hour markers throughout the timepiece. Clearly, Rubber B bands with their engineered tight fit to the case look like they were developed by Rolex itself to fit the Milgauss specifically. In fact, Rubber B engineered these bands to fit the case of the 40 mm Milgauss perfectly so that it is motionless and tight to the case.

Recently Rubber B has also released its Rubber Cuff series which has the look and feel of real Twill but is actually engineered vulcanized rubber with the same look and feel as fabric. Since it is 100% rubber it is ideal for swimming, outdoor activities, and athletics. It is made with Hydroturf Marine Thread and each model is hand-sewn.
