What Are The Different Kinds of Rolex Bracelets?

The Rolex Oyster Bracelet

If you were to purchase a Rolex timepiece, it would most likely be attached to a Rolex Oyster bracelet, as this is, by far, the most prevalent of the Rolex bracelets. It was patented by Rolex in 1947 and originally manufactured by Gay Frerès. However, in 1998, Rolex decided to purchase Gay Frerès, which is in keeping with their tradition of keeping manufacturing in-house as much as possible.

This style of bracelet is often seen on some of Rolex’s most popular models, such as the Submariner, Daytona, GMT-Master, Sea-Dweller, and Explorer. Upon close inspection, they are readily identifiable by their construction style, which consists of triple-linked metallic links. There is one large link in the middle, which is flanked by two smaller links on each side.

Depending on when the bracelet was manufactured, there are two different types of Glidelock clasps that are on the Oyster bracelet: the Oysterclasp or the Oysterlock. The Oysterlock Glidelock claps, which is the more modern of the two designs, allows the owner of the watch to make micro-adjustments to the clasp, which is helpful if the size of your wrist changes slightly over time.

The Rolex Jubilee Bracelet

One of the more elegant watch bracelets that Rolex has produced over the years, the Rolex Jubilee bracelet was designed and released in 1945 to celebrate Rolex’s 40^th anniversary of their opening. It was primarily designed to pair with a dressier style of clothing – when it was initially debuted on the Rolex Datejust timepiece, it came in solid gold.

It is discernible by its five-link design, which consists of three center links and two exterior links, with one on each side. In the mid 1950’s, Rolex debuted a new version of the Jubilee bracelet called the Rolessor, which they so titled because the metal came in a two-toned style.

The Rolex President Bracelet

The Jubilee bracelet’s standing as the dressiest of the Rolex bracelets changed in the mid-1950’s upon the unveiling of the Rolex President bracelet. Stylistically speaking, it can best be described as a hybrid of the Oyster and Jubilee bracelets. This bracelet is only manufactured from precious metals and is currently only seen on the President Day-Date and the Lady President timepieces as of this time.

The Rolex Pearlmaster Bracelet

Of all of the currently available Rolex bracelets, this one is by far the rarest. As of this moment in time, it is only available on the Rolex Pearlmaster, which was first seen in 1992. It has not been seen on any other references, which is what contributes to its truly elusive status among the Rolex bracelets.

Additionally, it is always made from precious metals, and it is also always paired with the Crownclasp, which contains a concealed deployant.

The Rolex Oysterflex Bracelet

Initially debuting on a rose-gold Yacht-Master in 2015, the Rolex Oysteflex is Rolex’s official rubber watch strap, and it is only available in black. In fact, this is the first Rolex bracelet that has not been made completely from metal. As such, it represents a significant stylistic departure from the company’s established style, while still maintaining its commitment to elegance and quality.
