Rolex offers three clasp options on their wristwatch models: the Oysterclasp, Oysterlock and Crownclasp. Each have unique characteristics made to compliment the bracelets they are designed for. They offer a secure close, optimal comfort and ergonomics and match the aesthetics of the timepieces. They undergo testing that includes tens of thousands of opening and closing cycles to ensure their reliability.

Consisting of 15 micro-technical components, Rolex’s Oysterlock folding safety clasp offers extra security by preventing accidental opening. It features a snap-fit lever that increases the finger force of the wearer and is fitted on the Oyster bracelets of many of the watchmaker’s professional models. The safety catch is shown in the photo above, with the watchmaker’s crown logo finishing the seal.

The Oysterclasp is a folding clasp that opens and closes using a lever for added security. The Oysterclasp does not have the crown on the safety catch like the Oysterlock does. It is most commonly seen on their Oyster Perpetual models that come with an Oyster bracelet. For their Jubilee and President bracelets, Rolex innovated the Crownclasp, concealed beneath a small crown-shaped lever, with the folding blades sitting under the links. It is difficult to spot the Crownclasp from far away, making it look like the links of the bracelet are uninterrupted from far.
