Rolex recently updated the Yacht-Master II with a much more powerful movement. Rolex launched the caliber 4161 self-winding movements. This perpetual, mechanical, self-winding, regatta chronograph is the result of over 35,000 hours of development, patented functions, and 360 components.

This new caliber supports 72 hours of power reserve. The timepiece also supports a waterproof depth of 330 feet.

The caliber 4161 has a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring oscillator for reliability even in rough seas. It has a central hour and minute hands, and a small seconds hand at 6 o’clock. It features a programmable countdown with mechanical memory and on-the-fly synchronization. It also has stop-seconds for precise time settings. Unlike most other timepieces, the bezel is an integral part of the mechanical movement.
