Daytona Cosmograph Chronograph

 

1991
For this reference 16528, Rolex decided to create a special series of 10 Daytona models with blue dials and with bezels graduated to 400 units per hour.

 

1992
Rolex enriched its production of self-winding chronographs with a new Daytona reference16518 in yellow gold. It came with a leather strap and an 18 karat gold safety lock. It was manufactured up until 2000.

 

1994

Rolex launched the ref. 16568: an Oyster Cosmograph Daytona which featured a bezel with 24 “baguette” diamonds, accompanied by an Oyster-lock bracelet (ref. 78398) which was in production until 2000.

1996

Rolex introduced an updated version of the Daytona ref. 16568, which was complimented by diamonds and emeralds: the reference 16568 EMRO with pave diamonds set in its dial. The emerald hour markers and bezel were adorned with 24 emeralds.

 

1997

At the famous Basel World Exhibition, Rolex introduced a new Daytona reference 16519 in 18 carat white gold, with engraved tachometer bezel graduated to 400 units per hour and a leather strap. Rolex also produces four “jewel” models that same year: ref. 16588 SAFU (bezel adorned with 24 pink sapphires and a diamond pavé set dial with pink sapphires for hour markers), ref. 16589 BRIL (bezel embellished by 24 “baguettes” diamonds and dial with diamond indexes), ref. 16589 SAPH (bezel adorned with 24 blue sapphires and pavé set diamond dial with sapphire hour markers) and ref. 16589 RUBI (bezel adorned with 24 rubies and pavé set diamond dial with ruby hour markers). All these Daytona models bear the caliber 4030 and were produced until the year 2000.

 

1998

Rolex introduced a new version of the Cosmograph Daytona at the Baselworld Exhibition, ref. 16599 SAPH with pavé set diamond dial and blue sapphire hour markers. The bezel was adorned with 24 blue sapphires

 

1999

At Basel World, Rolex introduced two new Cosmograph Daytona models in 18 carat white gold with  precious stones on their bezels: the references 16599 RUBI  and 16559 SACO . A new Cosmograph Daytona in 18 carat yellow gold was also introduced, reference 16598 EMRO, which featured a bezel adorned with 36 emeralds. These three new chronographs were equipped with a caliber 4030 and a leather strap. They were produced until the year 2000.
