The functions of the Daytona Dial were once thought to be unsavory to owners and collectors – yet are now the reason for their immense collectability. It has a center hour, minute, and seconds hands. It has a small second hand at 6 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock.
The chronograph (center hand) is accurate to within 1/8 of a second and is activated by one of the side pushers. The side pushers can be wound down like the center winding crown to protect the watch movement while submerged in water.
