The Rolex Datejust collection was first launched in 1945 to celebrate Rolex’s 40th anniversary. It was not until 2009, that the larger version of the Datejust was released. Known as the Datejust II, the newer model measured 41mm in diameter. The Datejust II proportions are slightly larger and have a bolder appearance than the original 36mm sized Datejust.
In 2016, an even newer version of the Rolex Datejust was released, also at 41mm in diameter. The Rolex Datejust 41 126333 has a more refined case than the Datejust II models and is closer to being a large-sized version of the classic 36mm model. Along with size proportion updates, the Rolex Datejust 41mm 126333 received Rolex’s new generation caliber movement of 3235. It features the chronology escapement and a 70-hour power reserve.

The one that most closely resembles the look of the classic Rolex Datejust is without a doubt reference 126333. The very first version of the Rolex Datejust was offered in solid gold; however, for most Rolex enthusiasts Datejusts are associated with a two-tone watch, it’s fitted with the brand’s signature fluted bezel.
The 126333 Rolex Datejust 41mm was released in 2016 and is considered a Rolex Datejust 41. This is because it has a slightly thinner bezel and is updated with a caliber 3235 movement than the Rolex Datejust II.
