(Switzerland, 7/2/2021) Rubber B Launches the SwimSkin Alligator Band for Rolex Yachtmaster. Rubber B finally brings the strongest and most durable band that looks and feels like real Alligator Skin but is 100% rubber, which is fully waterproof and Vegan friendly.
Pictured above you can see the Rolex Yachtmaster with a stunning black Alligator band made with 100% Rubber from Rubber B. However, this band, as sophisticated and eco-friendly as it is, is just part of a long history of Rubber B advancements in the horology of swiss-designed watch band design.
Rubber B was the first watch band company to start developing rubber watch bands specifically designed to support Rolex Yachtmaster timepieces. Rubber B developed a unique strap which fits the case with a a tight motion-free connection called “Blocked Integration.”
Most bands do not connect to the case in this manner and leave a gap between the bar and the case. Blocked Integration is a custom fit since each model Rolex Yachtmaster (Rubber B supports many brands today) must be custom fitted so that the band creates a tight connection to the exact case shape that it is built for.

Rubber B further designed their bands to support the Rolex OEM Oyster Deployant clasps. It is true that Rubber B also has many other bands that support TANG buckles, and Velcro Buckles, but the ability to leverage the same Rolex Deployant clasp with the rubber strap is a unique “first” in the industry.
Owners could then leverage the same deployant features that Rolex pioneered with the Oyster strap (such as the glidelock featureset) while still being able to enhance their look with different colors and styles of rubber bands from Rubber B. The Rubber B strap had to be enhanced with unique strength infusion technology to be able to support the glidelock features while reducing wear that could harm the strap itself.
Rubber B is also the only pure strap maker that manufactures its bands in Switzerland. This is a significant difference because most strap makers are either the watch maker themselves, and are focused on making exquisite timepieces and not on making the a wide variety of ultimate bracelets in multiple styles and colors to accompany their timepiece.
Other band makers may be located in areas outside of Switzerland which do not have the same scrutiny for excellence, quality and reliability as Swiss-branded products have. Rubber B holds itself to the highest standards that the Swiss watchmaking industry aspires to.
SwimSkin Alligator Band for Rolex Yachtmaster
Rubber B never stopped developing new ideas for their bands. Today Rubber B launches its newest lineup of SwimSkin® straps for the Rolex Yachtmaster 40mm. The SwimSkin® patented rubber technology was developed over a 5 year period. It involved innovative machinery and engineering techniques to allow Rubber B to create designs such as “Calf Leather” strap designs out of pure 100% Vulcanized Rubber. These rubber straps look and feel like real leather but are free from Animal products such as Alligator or Calf hide. No animal was harmed in the making of these SwimSkin replacement watch bands.
These bands come with a 18mm 316L Stainless Steel Buckle which could be replaced with any other tang buckle. This Vulcanized Rubber watch band has been Tortion-tested for extreme strength and security. The Velcro® Alfatex® provides an inner closure with micro-adjustibility for maximum comfort. The band is hand-sewn with HYDROTURF® Marine Thread, which provides maximum resistance to UV-rays, atmospheric conditions, & chemicals. The band exceeds FDA and BVGG specifications and is non-toxic, non-marking, non-allergenic.

Rubber B has also developed the Swimskin Ballistic Series which looks and feels like real Kevlar fabric. However, just as the “Alligator” Swimskin, this design is entirely machine driven, and makes pure 100% vulcanized rubber to feel like real fabric. However, since it is pure rubber, it is perfect for athletic endeavors including water-based activities such as swimming, diving and other athletics. Since rubber is a dense substance it repels salt-water, sweat, and other things that could damage true leather or fabric-based products.
