Is The Submariner a Visually Appealing Timepiece?

While the Yacht-Master and the Submariner are fairly similar from a technical standpoint, outside of their water resistance, it is when you take a look at the aesthetics of the two watches that you begin to see a clear difference between the two pieces.

The Submariner has a much more pared-down look, and this is not by accident. The two watches were crafted for entirely different purposes, and the Submariner is considered a “tool watch.” As a result, it has a bit more of an austere look, with its deep black dial and patented Oystersteel case.
