Mel B Sporting her Rolex Daytona
Mel B, the former Spice Girls member, was spotted in NYC on April 1, 2015, on her way to Extra sporting her Rolex Daytona.
Melanie Janine Brown achieved worldwide acclaim as one of the members of the 1990’s band the Spice Girls. She was nicknamed Scary Spice and has often had her real name shortened to Mel B or Melany B. She is a singer, songwriter, actress and TV personality. With the Spice Girls she sold over 100 million records – the best-selling female group of all time.
She since went on to launch her solo album “Hot” in 2000, and she had success with her single “I Want You Back.” She released several other singles which reached high chart success, including the most recent “For Once in My Life” released in 2013. That single hit number 2 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
Mel B is one of the most successful Spice Girls after the band itself disbanded in 2000. Several of her tracks appeared in popular movie soundtracks and she has also acted in stage productions of Rent and appeared on a tremendous number of TV and Film projects – often as a presenter/judge or as herself.

It is hard to tell whether Mel B loves the Daytona for its chronograph features or if it is just her desire to own one of the most respected Rolex timepieces on the planet. Regardless, this steel Daytona can be worn anywhere and still maintain its new shine.
The Oystersteel model pictured above goes for $14,550 as a list price on the Rolex site, but if you would like to, you could opt for a more luxurious model in similar looking, white gold which have diamond hour markers instead of luminescent hour markers. However, that option would go for over $40k. The Oystersteel Daytona may be the least costly timepiece in Mel B’s collection, yet it is probably the most difficult to acquire timepiece in the marketplace today.
Mel B shows that she is not just an ordinary watch collector when she acquired the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Steel Automatic Watch 25940SK.OO.D002CA.01 pictured above. This timepiece is spectacular in every respect. Unlike the steel band Rolex timepieces, the AP pictured above has a rubber band and combines black rubber and steel on the bezel.
This timepiece is dated to around 2008. It is powered by the caliber 2326/2840 and has a large 44mm case – 4 mm bigger than the Rolex equivalent Daytona. Yet it wears effortlessly on her wrist. It is interesting that Mel B seems to prefer chronograph timepieces in general to other types of watches. This particular timepiece looks excellent with her Black and White dress pictured above. This AP timepiece goes for around $30k today in aftermarket sales.
This Rolex Presidential Day-Date is more “Posh” than it is “Scary.” It is a delightful timepiece with a ruby red dial and yellow gold throughout the rest of the timepiece. This is one of the smallest timepieces in Mel B’s collection with only 36mm in size. Each of the hour markers is adorned with a diamond surrounded by yellow gold, with the exception of the 3 o’clock position where the date aperture appears and the 12 o’clock position where the day of the week is spelled out.
This timepiece is most notable for its diamond studded bezel and its blood red dial. This timepiece is meant to be noticed. Although the majority of people will be star struck just seeing Mel B, a select few may take notice of this luxurious timepiece. It is hard to tell which one would glimmer brighter in the spotlight.
