A large and striking automatic Panerai model with a GMT function, the PAM00658 Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT is powered by a P.4002 calibre developed from the P.4000 automatic mechanical movement. With a 45mm 316L stainless steel case inspired by the commandos in the Italian Navy in 1940 on an untreated brown leather strap, this timepiece exudes military style with a refinement that makes it worthy of the Panerai name.
Developed in the Panerai Manufacture at Neuchâtel, the P.4002 movement features an off-centre micro rotor that rotates in both directions, with the power reserve of three days stored within the two spring barrels. Its functions include the date displayed in an aperture at 3 o’clock, central hour and minute hands with the addition of a GMT function, an am/pm indicator on a sub-dial at 9 o’clock and a power reserve display at 5 o’clock. It also features a depth rating of 100 meters and large baton shaped hour markers between the arabic numerals at 12, 9 and 6 o’clock.
The dial of this magnificent timepiece is black with a relief of vertical stripes. The combination of a dark dial and markers filled with ecru Super-LumiNova® creates a contrast that makes the display of this watch extremely legible even in the darkest environments. In addition to a clear display, this model also offers a stop-seconds mechanism that zeroes the seconds as soon as the winding crown is pulled out for accurate synchronization. It also has a feature that jumps from hour to hour when adjust the time forward or backwards without stopping the minutes, also ideal for synchronizing your watch accurately.
