One of the first Tudor models to be equipped with a movement manufactured completely in-house by the watchmaker, the North Flag is a tool watch for the modern adventurer. This stainless steel model is at home in the Arctic Circle, where modern electronics may not be suited to assist explorers and scientists. The self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional rotor system of the North Flag offers power while the luminescence of the hands and hour markers ensure legibility even in the darkness of winter.
The 40 mm case of the North Flag is made of steel with a satin finish and open case back with a sapphire crystal. It features a double bezel in steel and matt black and a steel winding crown with the Tudor logo in relief. The black dial features Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock, a date displayed through an aperture at 3 o’clock and a power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock. Its MT5621 movement features a 70 hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour.
One of the features of the North Flag that differentiates it from other models in the Tudor line is the arrowhead-shaped hour hand. It replaces the snowflake-shaped hour hand that appears on other Tudor models, like the Pelagos and Black Bay. It also has a unique yellow-colored seconds hand that matches the power reserve indicator, minute scale and the stitching on the black leather strap that is also available on this model.
