Patek Philippe introduced the Nautilus collection in 1976. The shape of a porthole inspired the design of its large, iconic case. While the majority of the watchmaker’s timepieces are classical in aesthetic, the Nautilus model is their most sporty wristwatch offering. Its casual elegance adds a nautical flare to Patek’s fine watchmaking for a truly unique experience on the wrist.
When designing our line of vulcanized rubber straps for the Nautilus 5711 model, we paid particular attention to the shape of the case. The textured design element down the middle of the strap follows the lines of the case to create a seamless transition from case to strap. Micro-calibrated to achieve full ‘blocked-integration,’ the strap creates a flawless fit with no gaps or movement. It also incorporates the Patek Philippe deployant buckle that comes on the original leather strap.
Particular attention was also paid to the selection of colors available for the 5711. Given its nautical legacy, the Arctic White and Navy Blue straps shown in the photo were a logical choice. They are the perfect compliment to the white gold and yellow gold configurations. The warmth of the yellow and rose gold versions is a perfect match for the Chocolate Brown and Espresso Brown straps. And for those who prefer darker watchbands, we offer them in Jet Black and Charcoal Gray.
