Rolex has been at the cutting edge of diver’s timepieces since the first waterproof Oyster case was released in the 1920’s. Rolex didn’t stop at the bare minimum requirements of mere water resistance. Rolex engineered this timepiece specifically for deep-sea exploration. Rolex launched the Sea-Dweller in 1967. It is currently waterproof to a depth of 4000 feet.
The Deepsea version of the Sea-Dweller was launched in 2008 and re-released in 2014. The Rolex Deepsea allows divers to take their timepiece to an unbelievable 12,800 feet deep. It is designed with a helium escape valve, which equalizes pressure during decompression. The strength and water resistance is engineered using a patented Ringlock system. It has a nitrogen alloyed steel designed in a ring and the case back is a titanium grade 5. The sapphire crystal is 5.5 mm thick, creating a timepiece that can withstand 3 tonnes of pressure.
The Sea-Dweller has a 60-minute graduated, unidirectional rotatable bezel allowing divers to safely monitor dive and decompression times. The large Chromalight hour markers provide a long-lasting blue luminescence on the hour markers and hour, minute and seconds hands, providing powerful visibility at the deepest depths.
The 43 mm Oystersteel case is fitted with a 3 piece link Oyster bracelet with folding clasp and Rolex’s Glidelock extension system. The calibre 3235 provides an outstanding 70 hours of power reserve and comes with the superlative chronometer certification rating.
Rubber B has designed two straps for the Rolex Sea-Dweller 43 mm reference 126600. The first is an all black strap and the second is black and red strap “Vulchromatic” bracelet which are perfectly fused together. The red perfectly matches the Sea Dweller print on the dial of the timepiece.
The Carbon Fiber Series rubber strap engineered to fit Rolex Sea-Dweller 43mm case and Glidelock clasp. It is not compatible with the 40mm Sea-Dweller or 44mm Deepsea Sea-Dweller models. This strap utilizes “Blocked Integration” engineering, incorporating solid inserts for a flawless, motionless flush mount to the watch case.
These straps are infused with strength technology providing support against friction, weight, and frequent micro-adjustments made daily to your Rolex Glidelock Clasp. Carbon Fiber molecules are fused within the vulcanized rubber during its mould process, resulting in a substantial increase in vertical and lateral stress resistance, while maintaining supple, flexible comfort around the wearer’s wrist. This band maintains the full support of the extention systems of your Glidelock clasp. For more information, visit our page here.
