The Black Bay Bronze is a 43 mm divers’ watch inspired by the brand’s naval history and fitted with the TUDOR Manufacture caliber MT5601.
The Tudor Black Bay Bronze Reference 79250BA is a stunning timepiece.
The essence of Black Bay Like other models in the Black Bay line, the Black Bay Bronze model features a dial inspired by the TUDOR divers’ watches produced in the 1950s. It also adopts the characteristic angular hands known as “Snowflake” that appeared in the brand’s 1969 catalog. Finally, the winding crown with no crown guard, like the holes drilled across the horns, are typical features of the first generations of TUDOR divers’ watches.
The central feature of the Black Bay Bronze model is its 43-millimeter bronze case, an aesthetic reference to the brass used in old ships and diving equipment. This “living” metal, a high-performance aluminum-copper alloy used in naval engineering for submerged parts that need to be highly resistant to corrosion, will produce a subtle, unique patina, based on the wearer’s habits. In addition to a highly functional appearance, the Black Bay Bronze presents entirely satin-brushed finishes that guarantee the homogeneous development of the patina.
Following the introduction of the first bronze model in 2016 TUDOR continues to explore this rare bronze material with its characteristic patina. A new color scheme based on slate grey now embellishes the dial and bezel of this striking divers’ watch, whose aesthetics have changed over time and whose naval inspiration can be found in every detail. The impressive Black Bay Bronze also offers high technical performance thanks to its Manufacture caliber MT5601.
The brushed bronze alloy and yellowed patina lume on the hands and hour markers give the timepiece an antique look that many collectors clamor for. However, the high-performance features of this timepiece are not antique in any way.
The Tudor Black Bay Bronze offers 660 feet of waterproofness, and its hands and hour markers are large and clearly visible above and below water – in both light and darkness. The hour markers and hands are surrounded by gold. Even the 3, 6, and 9-hour markers have gold surrounding their inner lumen. Inside this modern timepiece is a new caliber MT5601 which provides an impressive 70 hours of power reserve.
One look at the Tudor Black Bay Bronze and it is easy to fall in love with the chocolate brown dial and easy readability. The large winding crown is adorned with an engraved Tudor rose. The 43 mm bronze case is polished with a bronze-colored PVD-treated satin finish.
The Tudor Black Bay Bronze bezel rotates in one direction and provides a 60- minute disk in batt slate grey anodized aluminum. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal. Leaving no stone unturned, the bracelet is a rounded black nubuck leather with a bronze buckle.
The case of Tudor Black Bay Bronze makes nautical reference to the brass used in old ships and diving equipment. It is highly resistant to corrosion. This timepiece is built to look better over time, with the patina already giving it a slightly antique look to it.
The new caliber MT5601 is built with a non-magnetic silicon balance spring. Certified by the COSC, it provides excellent accuracy and reliability. It is built with 25 jewels and beats at a frequency of 28,88 vph.
