This watch takes characteristics of other Luminor 1950 models and melds them with functionality fit for the world of sailing.
Among its unique characteristics is the materials used to bring this wristwatch to life. The brushed case and polished bezel are made from titanium, a metal that is highly resistant to the corrosive elements of the sea. Titanium is very strong but also light, allowing it to withstand the elements like stainless steel but with less weight, creating a comfortable wear for a wristwatch. The PAM00526 is equipped with a P.9100/R automatic mechanical movement manufactured by the watchmaker. It is identical to the P.9100 with the addition of 26 new parts to provide the additional functionality required to power the regatta timer. The timer is engaged by setting the countdown with the pusher at 4 o’clock, moving the minute hand back minute by minute until set. Then, you simply press the pusher at 10 o’clock to start the chronograph function. Once the timer reaches the end of the countdown, the hands keep on moving to measure the elapsed time after the countdown.
Even with the additional functionality taking up room on the dial, this timepiece still offers a clean, legible dial that is easy to read. It is just as east to read in the dark due to the luminescence added to the hour and minute hand, hour markers and arabic numerals.
