The Panerai Luminor Base 8 Days Acciaio – 44mm – Reference PAM00561 is a beautifully designed timepiece that appears simplistic in design and can easily pass for a dress watch. However, if you inspect the timepiece closer, you will find that the Reference PAM00561 is a stunning accomplishment in Italian horology. Inspired by the Luminor 1950 case created for the underwater commandos of the Italian Navy, the Reference PAM00561 has a polished bezel made from AISI 316L 1.4435 stainless steel, and highly legible black Arabic numerals against a white dial background. In order to provide luminescent readability in the dark or at night, subtle luminescent dots appear at each hour mark, and a double dot appears at the 12 o’clock position. The hour and minute hands are also painted with luminescence.

The Reference PAM00561 is powered by the Hand-wound mechanical Panerai P.5000 caliber. The movement is made with 15 ½ lines, 21 jewels, and 127 components, and contains both a Glucydur® balance and the KIF Parechoc® anti-shock device. The result is a timepiece providing an incredible 8 days of power reserve. The large winding crown is additionally protected by the patented Panerai locking mechanism, and a waterproofing system providing water resistance to approximately 900 feet. The Reference PAM00561 comes with a black leather band.
