Panerai Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic (PAM00674)

Panerai’s iconic Luminor 1950 case is easy to spot from far away due to its unique shape and large size. While bigger cases are the trend when it comes to luxury timepieces, another trend that has cemented itself in the wristwatch industry is that of the slim case. Not to be outdone by competitors, Panerai has released their Luminor Due collection to offer customers the look of a Panerai without the excess bulk that usually comes with a 45 mm case.

The first of the Due collection to features an automatic movement, the PAM00674 is powered by a P.4000 calibre made by Panerai in their Manufacture in Neuchâtel. The size of this movement was reduced by 40% to a thickness of 10.7 mm to accommodate the thinner case design, while still retaining the design and precision of a Panerai movement. It is the thinnest calibre ever manufactured by the watchmaker and it features a decentralized micro-motor that rotates in both directions, allowing the watch to power itself for up to three days. It also features a device that stops the balance wheel when the winding crown is pulled out, allowing one to synchronize time perfectly.

While this fine luxury timepiece represents the latest innovations of Panerai, it still maintains their classic aesthetic. The crown protecting bridge is still there, adding a flair to the case that is instantly distinguishable. This model features a sandwich dial with a seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock and a black alligator leather strap. The case is made from 316L stainless steel and is waterproof up to 30 meters.
