The Rolex Explorer II Ref 216570 is inspired by the amazing accomplishments of Sir Edmund Hillary as he climbed Mount Everest. This timepiece has become the pinnacle of achievement and an inspiration for cave exploration, mountain climbing and adventure at the highest stages. Built for strength and reliability the 40 mm case is designed to keep ticking in high altitudes, in harsh weather and it has the strength to withstand a beating.
The luminous hour markers and hands can help the explorer get an accurate time day or night. The orange hour hand provides tracking of a 2nd time zone utilizing the 24-hour markings on the bezel.
Powered by an automatic 3187 caliber, the Rolex Explorer II has a power reserve of 50 hours. It is fitted with a Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, offering resistance to shocks and extreme conditions. It is tested by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) for precision.
The timepiece comes with a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position but no cyclops lense over the date. The white dial and black lettering and black touches on the hour, minute, second hands and around the luminescent hour markers provide for exceptional daytime visibility and a truly classic and universally appealing look. The timepiece comes with a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock clasp and Easylink 5mm comfort extension links.
Rubber B has designed a Vulcanized Rubber strap engineered to fit the Rolex Explorer II (42mm) and it’s original Deployant Clasp. This strap utilizes “Blocked Integration” engineering, incorporating solid inserts for a flawless, motionless flush mount to the watch case.
All Rubber B straps are made in Switzerland of pure vulcanized rubber. No coating, blends or bonding are used in the process, making all Rubber B products allergen-free. The strap mounts directly to the clasp pin for maximum adjustability and facility but does not require the need for the Rolex Easylink system. For more information, visit our Explorer II page here.
