One of the oldest and most prestigious partnerships is with the Wimbledon tennis championship. The crown on Rolex watches has ensured all Wimbledon tennis matches are perfectly timed for over four decades.

The History of Rolex Wimbledon Partnership

The world’s oldest and most known tennis tournament widely known as the Championship Wimbledon is located on the Center Court in London and features the most expert tennis players. In 1978, the collaboration between Rolex and Wimbledon was an obvious match,

Rolex then became the official timekeeper of Wimbledon, earning Rolex its spot and respect in the world of tennis.

The Wimbledon Rolex Datejust Dial

To symbolize the collaboration between Rolex and Wimbledon, Rolex came out with a unique dial for the Rolex Datejust, nicknaming it the “Wimbledon Rolex”. The Wimbledon Rolex was first introduced in 2009 and was a Rolex Datejust II, which would later be adapted into the Rolex Datejust 41. The Dial features Roman numeral markers outlined in the classic emerald-like green color that is reminiscent of the green grass on the courts of Wimbledon; the color on the face of the dial is a slate gray.

There is also a two-tone version of the Wimbledon watch available in yellow and white gold – meant to resemble the court clocks used for the tennis games. The Wimbledon dial is available in all Rolex Datejust 41 styles. Full stainless steel, white Rolesor, yellow gold Rolesor, and Everose Rolesor.

By both valuing commitment and tradition, and attention to quality and detail, it goes without saying that Rolex and Wimbledon are a perfect match.
