The Ultimate Rubber Strap for Rolex Explorer II – 216570

The Ultimate Rubber Strap for Rolex Explorer II - 216570

The 42mm Rolex Explorer II (Reference 216570) is a robust professional stainless steel watch with simple complications. It features a brushed steel 24-hour bezel and an orange 24-hour hand over a black dial. The date is displayed through an aperture at 3 o’clock with Rolex’s Cyclops magnifying lens over it. The hour markers are filled with Chromalight that provides powerful luminescence even in the darkness of a cave or a long winter’s night.

In the photo above, the Explorer II is fitted with a VulChromatic Rubber B strap from our e-Boutique. Made in Switzerland, our straps for Rolex are micro-callibrated using “blocked integration” to create a flawless mount onto the case with no gaps or movement. Our straps for the 216570 are available in either a 316L stainless steel tang buckle version or one that incorporates the deployant clasp that comes on the original bracelet.

How To Install A Rubber B Orange Strap on a Rolex Explorer II 216570

Changing the strap on your Rolex Explorer II 216570 to a Rubber B orange strap is a straightforward process that can be done at home with a few simple tools. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

What you’ll need:

  • Your Rolex Explorer II 216570 watch
  • Your new Rubber B orange strap (either with a tang buckle or designed for the original deployant clasp)
  • A spring bar tool (a small, forked tool used to compress and remove spring bars)
  • A soft cloth or watch mat to protect your watch

Steps:

  1. Prepare your workspace: Lay down the soft cloth or watch mat to prevent any scratches to your watch case or bracelet.
  2. Remove the original bracelet (if applicable):
    • Locate the spring bars that connect the bracelet to the watch lugs (the protruding parts of the case where the strap attaches). You’ll see small indentations on the inside of the lugs where the spring bars are accessible.
    • Using the forked end of your spring bar tool, carefully position the fork on one end of a spring bar.
    • Gently push inwards on the spring bar, compressing it. This will detach that end of the bracelet from the lug.
    • Repeat this process on the other end of the same spring bar to fully detach one side of the bracelet.
    • Do the same for the other side of the bracelet. Set the original bracelet aside in a safe place.
  3. Install the Rubber B strap (Tang Buckle Version):
    • Position one end of the Rubber B strap between the lugs.
    • Insert one end of a spring bar into the hole on the inside of the lug.
    • Using the spring bar tool, compress the other end of the spring bar.
    • Carefully maneuver the compressed end of the spring bar into the corresponding hole on the other lug. Ensure the spring bar clicks securely into place.
    • Repeat this process for the other side of the Rubber B strap and the remaining spring bars.
  4. Install the Rubber B strap (Deployant Clasp Version):
    • If your Rubber B strap is designed to use the original Rolex deployant clasp, you will first need to remove the deployant clasp from your original bracelet. This usually involves unscrewing small screws on the underside of the clasp links. Keep these screws safe.
    • Once the deployant clasp is removed, attach it to the Rubber B strap by reversing the removal process, ensuring all screws are tightened securely.
    • Now, position one end of the Rubber B strap (with the attached deployant clasp) between the lugs.
    • Repeat this process for the other side of the Rubber B strap and the remaining spring bar.
  5. Check the security: Gently tug on the newly installed Rubber B strap to ensure it is securely attached to the watch case. There should be no movement or rattling.

Now your Rolex Explorer II 216570 is fitted with your new Rubber B orange strap, ready for any adventure!
