The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S (Reference RDDBEX0613) is a limited edition timepiece built in partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. It is the first 90 degree double sprung balance linked with a differential, giving it a better resistance to gravity.
The visionary design combined with the same supercar design codes of the Lamborghini engineering team, creates a stylish timepiece that is built for precision. Only 88 units of this exceptional timepiece were created – adding to its exclusivity and rarity.
The 45 mm case is built with a mulit-layer of carbon C-SMC carbon. The dial is a skeleton dial with rhodium plating, and black and yellow flanges. the inner design actually looks like a cross between a high powered engine for a racecar or a lunar landing module. It has rhodium plated hour markers filled with white luminous SLN for legibility at any time of day or night.
The 18k gold hands are covered with yellow transfer and white luminous SLN tips. The yellow seconds hand has a javelin look as it slices the underlying black and grey with spectacular grace. Touches of yellow exist throughout the timepiece such as on the minute markers and the inner bezel ring and on the winding crown.
The Reference RDDBEX0613 is powered by a hand-wound calibre RD103SQ, with a 40 hour power reserve. This caliber works at a 2 x 4 hz frequency, giving it higher precision. It provides hours, minutes, jumping seconds and a power reserve indicator. The RD103SQ is built with 312 components, an impressive 48 jewels and beats at a 57,600 vph frequency.
The Reference RDDBEX0613 comes with a black rubber-tech inlay and black rubber base with yellow stitching. The clasp is a black DLC titanium with adjustable folding buckle.
Rubber B collaborated with Roger Dubuis to design the Official bracelet collection for the DDBEX0613. This Vulcanized Rubber strap is specifically engineered for the 45mm case and deployment clasp with the “quick-release” system. All Rubber B straps are made in Switzerland utilizing pure, natural vulcanized rubber with no coatings or blends.
The engineered blocked integration creates a rotation-free mount. The strap can also integrate perfectly with the original Roger Dubuis deployant buckle. Above we see two straps – one with yellow rubber and yellow stitching, and one with black rubber and black stitching. Many more coloring options are available including the default black base and yellow stitching that comes with the original timepiece.
